the official "u did it" thread

In the past three days:

  • Got straight A's for the first quarter.
  • Spelled anesthesia right on my first try.
  • Survived my first exam so far.
 
I actually do like the name; good choice Glitchy!

I'm considering changing my name when I'm 18. If anyone's interested in what I'd change it to I'll tell you but it's currently irrelevant.

Marcia is a name of one of my favorite characters in a book series so, I like the name.
 
* I'm officially 3 Stars on the Super Mario. Boards.
* I beat the 200cc Shell Cup, triple stars, on my first go.
* Checked my school report. I got three A's and one B.
 
Survived my exams. Grades:

Bible: 98
Algebra: 98
Geography: 100
English: 99
Science: 94

The only one I might not have an A in for this quarter is science, if my school decides to change my grade at all.
 
Found out results for some of my 7th grade exams. 8th grade starts next friday.

Algebra = A
Fractions = B
Astronomy = A
Film Study = A
Civics = A
Book Report = B

Not too shabby.
 
By sheer coincidence, I sat down next to a TA I had on my field ornithology course 5 years ago, who only just came back to my campus from a different school, so I hadn't seen her all this time. But she still remembered me and was like "hey, I taught you that one time", and then I recognized her too, and was able to recall some facts about her to use for conversation. It was fun catching up - that 2-week field course remains my most positive schooling experience ever, and I was actually reminiscing about it just the other day, too.

Led a field trip today for the ornithology class. One of the students was an avid birder already and found a bunch if birds for me, which was handy, although I had to be careful not to just bullshit some of the other IDs in case he'd be like "nope, they're Lesser Scaup, not Greater Scaup, ur a failure as a TA, hahahaha bonus pointsss")

Last night went with my band to see the Charleston Jazz Orchestra perform with Diane Schuur (blind 2-time Grammy award winning jazz singer) and the Arturo Sandoval (one of the greatest trumpet players in the world). That was fantastic.

Today, said band also gave a great performance downtown, which was also really fun.
 
I found out that Willy on Wheels was featured on the New York Times for adding "on wheels" to many Wikipedia articles.
 
uni is starting soon so i've started planning my orientation and advice sessions
the responsibilities

also started desperately applying for a job at a new store that's opening really close to where i live so i seriously hope i get a chance because it would make uni life so much easier
 
(attempted to) Looked at the Shroom Mafia page on my phone, which on two bars of internet made it lag so badly.
