Gaming mascots that have sad stories

For any of you who like Gex (if any of you do), he might be making a comeback, as Square Enix has ownership of Crystal Dynamics now and is planning to revive or has started reviving old franchises including his (they stated their intent to revive his franchise specifically). Also they started making more Klonoa games I think.

Ok I just confirmed it. Square Enix is officially reviving the Gex franchise by making more modern remakes of the first three games for PS4 and PS5 and also, who knows, might even make further sequels. As far as Klonoa, remasters have been made of the first two games and who knows there might be more sequels in the future with that one as well; who knows. Kao The Kangaroo got revived recently as well.

Just like when Activision did the same with crash bandicoot and Spyro the dragon, a lot of those mascots are making a comeback in recent times, oh and here's another one that I miss, Jak and Daxter, after naughty dog have gave crash bandicoot away, they made this dynamic duo, after a few games naughty dog forgot about them, being too busy with uncharted and the last of us, we're probably never going to see Jak and Daxter again.

They might come back (Jak And Daxter), who knows. Let's stay positive here. I mean, nobody thought Kao The Kangaroo was coming back, and he had a new game come out in 2022.

Poor Mr Nutz, he was the mascot for Ocean at the time, the poor squirrel had two games one of which was ported to SNES, Mega Drive, GB, GBC, and GBA, as for the second game Mr Nutz 2(AKA Mr Nutz: hopping mad) was about to be ported to the Mega Drive but was cancelled, that's another 90s mascot who died a horrible death.........oh and speaking of squirrels Conker a mascot which was made by Rare well known for donkey Kong country, killer instinct, and Banjo Kazooie, his first appearance was in Diddy Kong racing and his second was in Conker's pocket tales, he had a game in development called Conker's quest which was gonna appeal to children but was made into a game for adults called Conker's bad fur day, Nintendo refused to have anything to do with it, advertising it in men's magazines and not even mentioning it in Nintendo power, it damaged Rare's reputation and it was bought out by Microsoft which remade the game for the Xbox
