Going back to Ponyo, one of the things that was emphasized about it was that unlike the previous few Miyazaki films, there was no CG used; every frame was hand-drawn, which was something I liked about it.

I'm pretty dependent on my limbs, but that doesn't mean getting rid of them will make me better.

I was talking about Miyazaki films, not animated films in general. The skill variable is constant.
 
On that point, I must agree.
Howl's Moving Castle looked downright ugly.
 
Howl was OK but I like the movies that have original plot and characters anyway, which Howl wasn't, so.
