Windows 7? GOOD?! BAH!! I've had more errors with windows 7 than any other version. Fantastic Internet security, very low activity, tons of free memory, no pr0n, and yet it still blue screen. If anything, these should be switched around.

Really?
Then there's a problem with your machine. I run Windows 7 on a piece of shit desktop and it works without lag or BSODs or any of that shit. It's a problem with your computer, not your OS.

If it can run other OSes without a hitch, however, that means that you just have too bad of a PC to be running Windows 7.

I'll never fucking understand people who complain about weak-ass netbooks or computers over seven years old not running Windows 7. Of course it won't, you technologically illiterate fuck, Windows 7 came out three years ago and was made for modern hardware.

This, of course, is not directed at you. I love you, man.

Anyways, seriously.

Trying to run Windows 7 on old hardware is like trying to run a GameCube game on an N64.
Or trying to create a 1-bit video game.

The main problem is is that my laptop is incredibly new, it's got Windows 7 pre installed, and it's the third time the ruddy thing has bsod on me. I don't really understand why, I'm incredibly safe on it, and I've gone with the correct security, and yet it still breaks down on me.

What programs are running when it crashes?

Run an Avast and Malwarebytes scan. You might have a virus.

First time was LotR online, so I guess that had something to do with it

Second time I downloaded a Minecraft skin which completely wiped the memory of my pc, so I know about that one

Third time I was on YouTube. Not sure what happened there.

There's a problem with your PC.

All of those are tasks going to the GPU.

It shouldn't be doing that. You should get a refund.

Guys, just because I can split segments of off-topic discussion, doesn't mean you're free to derail any threads, now please if you would, make another topic, or find a more appropriate topic.

...and here's crash.

I would post a picture of my desktop, only it's been completely obliterated by errors and all sorts of shit. I see I have no business here. Good day.

Travis Touchdown, it's actually funny how you bash an OS, based on the very, very first Screenshots, instead of experience with the latest builds.

Nabber, how can you even make a 1-bit game?
Really, a 1-bit game is nothing more, than an On/Off 'game'.

Pokémon Trainer Red, I know, but the Desktop isn't that facinating.

I've used Windows 8.

I dislike the tablet interface. It's lacking features Windows 7 had and is worse at graphics processing. It's also having serious compatibility issues with Win7 programs, it's a completely unnecessary upgrade, and it's taking a disturbingly Apple approach with its App Store and has drawn the valid criticisms of Gabe Newell and Notch.

When my consumer choice is limited by my OS, said OS isn't using the power its predecessor could use, and its buggy as hell with many programs that Microsoft promised would work properly with it, I have serious problems.

Windows 7 is the world's most secure operating system. It's the fucking pinnacle of Windows OSes thus far, and if Windows 8 is any indication, it's going to be the last.

I'm a technician, I kind of know what I'm talking about.

I was actually making a reference to a time in chat when Tabuu was arguing with some guy about how it's literally impossible to make a 1-bit game. It was pretty funny.

Nice technician then, it really sounds like you didn't try the latest build.
I have no problems with backwards compatibility, no graphical problems, and Windows 7 features, do you mean, MSPaint? Notepad? CMD? These can be executed via Windows + R.
And actually, OpenBSD is the world's most secure OS, not Windows 7.

My experiece: Grown up as an technician, was System Administrator at High School for 2 years, provided Web Hosting for a half year, was Network Administrator at a System Management Business for 2 years, Developed Apps during all of the 3, and now Developing Games.

It's not graphical problems, it's the fact that the OS is worse at graphics processing than Windows 7 is.

I haven't used the latest build- I'll take your word on the software compatibility.

Windows 8 is missing Windows Media Center (admittedly nobody gave a shit about that anyways), Backup and Restore has been cut up (and individual file restorations are a fucking mess), Aero/Flip3D is gone, as is DVD compatibility/Maker, and they fucking took out the Start Button. Yes, I know you can go to the old interface, but there's no Start Menu anymore- just a fullscreen in-your-face ugly-as-shit Metro UI, which, I stress, is for fucking touchscreens.

And let me repeat: this is a closed system. It's disturbingly OSX-esque, especially with the fucking Microsoft App Store which is basically giving a big ol' "fuck you" to OEMS and Developers world-wide.

Windows 8 would make a wonderful tablet OS. The interface is designed around that shit, and that's what it's good for.

But mouse/keyboard users? Don't fucking bullshit me and tell me you're dealing with the Metro UI better than you were the traditional Windows layout.

By the way, I'm a repair technician. I build computers and fix them.
