The Official "I'm going away/coming back!" Thread

The say that they're grounding me for being disobedient (as in, logging out when they specifically told me not to and not logging back in when they ask), and while I can understand where they're coming at, I do feel a right to a certain amount of privacy, especially when they've stated they don't care about using my Twitter in the first place.

I'm really sorry to hear that, Nabber. Not every parent is perfect, unfortunately, and there's some really twisted parents out there. :-\ They need to understand that you're responsible and deserve your privacy.

I'm glad my parents don't give a shit what i do on the internet.
 
yeah I ended up caving into them and logging back into Twitter and losing all dignity in the process, but the point is I'm not grounded anymore

Nabber, I'm an adult, I'm a parent, but I seriously can't believe you can't have privacy in your family.
Not saying you're lying, I mean, it's just something you can't agree with.
At least, if my parents would be like that, I'd seriously gave them a lot of trouble (maybe that's why I was allowed to have privacy, lol?).

Just because your own experiences tell you that there's no way he can't have privacy, does not mean that it's unbelievable. There are parents that need to know about everything their kids do, just because you aren't one of them doesn't mean there aren't any.
 
I didn't say there weren't any of these kind of people, I said it's just strange to me.

They threw out the box but took it out. Of course, the game was in my DS the whole time, which is good, but yeah they relinquished the box to me.

Why would they throw away one of your game cases?
 
because they weren't the ones who payed for it and they wanted me to realize I have no rights in the hosue
