I heard that they're doing a thorough investigation of the Slovenia-U.S. match. It seemed really biased, I mean really. I heard that the ref is going to sit out for the rest of the tournament and there is a rumor going around saying that there was "money under the table."

and the Netherlands should beat Japan.
But they won't.

My thoughts on USA-Svn: it WAS biased. There was no foul, no offside, it was a legit goal. The referee was clearly favoring Slovenia.

England-Algeria: ENgland didn't show their level, they were disappointing, that tie MAY cost them the qualification

Group C panroama
Slovenia: WIn or tie. In case of losing, they need USA and Algeria to tie.
England: Win. If they tie, they need the US to lose
USA: Win or tie.
Algeria: Win, and Slvenia to win

Many my dad and I were so excited to see the U.S. score that goal and then the referee didn't give a shit. Did you see how many players were being held by the Slovenians?!!? There were like 4 fouls at once. You know what's even worse, the red didn't give Slovenia any red cards when they deserved it, especially during Suler's and Altidore's throwdown. Like I said, "money under the table." I hope the ref gets executed to sit out for the rest of the cup. I call bullshit. However, Japan and the Netherlands will be interesting.

He will sit out, don't worry.

And indeed, I think Japan can give the surprise. I am rooting for japan.

Also, the Slovenia goalie was a coward in DOnovan's goal.... he just hid behind the post

Losing Klose really hurt them. And Italy, known for their slow starts, should beat New Zealand (though Slovakia didn't) but not by more than 2 goals.

I don't think Slovakia is that great of a team, to be honest. The U.S. team, however, needs to work on their passing because it's sometimes pretty horrible. Yeah, losing Klose really hurt them, but I forgot why he got a red card since I had to watch it at 4 A.M.! At least Germany didn't lose by a landslide *coughSouthAfricacough*.

My thoughts on Netherlands-Japan: japan palyed well, but they just couldn't match up to the Netherlands. Japan had 3 chances in the first half, and each time, they failed.

Those aren't thoughts, those are facts.

Crap! I fell asleep through the Japan-Neth. game and half the Ghana game. It doesn't help that the Japan game starts at 4 A.M. and the Ghana game started at 6:30 A.M.

I see it that you live on the west coast? (Even then, the Japan game started at 4:30 and the Ghana game at 7:00)

Japan was inches away from tying the game in the 90th minute. As it is, the game ended 1-0 leaving the Netherlands in prime position to advance to the round of 16.

My thoughts on todays first 2 games:

Netherlands-Japan:
Japan is a strong team, they will possibly qualify as 2nd. Netherlands team is solid, and that is one of their main qualities.

Ghana-Australia:
The team that takes the best out of this tie is Serbia. Both teams, improved in certain way from their first match, but it just wasn't enough for any of them to win.

Group D panorama
Ghana: Goes in by winning. If they tie, they need Serbia not to win. If Ghana loses, they need Serbia to lose.
Germany: They need to win. If they tie, they need Serbia to tie or lose.
Serbia: They need to win. If they tie, they need Germany to lose
Australia: They need to win, and Germany to lose. If germany ties, they need to win by 4 goals

GAH! Dammit! Cameroon should've won. They were so close millions of times! Ugh...at least they didn't lose by a landslide. I hope they advance, they're one of my favorite teams besides Mexico and Germany (who unfortunately sucked on their last game).

Netherlands will advance along with Denmark-Japan winner. Cameroon is out.

Too bad I won't be here for the next week. When I get back, the Round of 16 will start.

My thoughts on today's last match, and today's matches

Cameroon-Denmark:
In my opinion, the best match in what we have seen of the tournament. It was really exciting.

Paraguay-Slovakia:
Slovakia is really weak, and Paraguay's offense is dangerous, even without Cabañas. Paraguay may actually finish first.

Italy-New Zealand:
Now the old king is dead..... Since losing to Mexico, Italy's game has gone downhill. They are no longer a contender for the title.

Brazil-Côte d' Ivoire:
Brazil showed much more of their level in this game than in Korea's. Kaka's red card will hurt them, tho. But Luis Fabiano is amazing.

Groups panorama

E:
Netherlands: Is already in.
Japan: Win or tie.
Denmark: Win or tie.
Cameroon: They are out. (Take that, Miss Eto'o)

F:
Paraguay: WIn or tie.
Italy: Get a better result than New Zealand
New Zealand: Get a better result than Italy
Slovakia: Win, and Italy and NZ to tie

Cameroon could've easily won if it wasn't for Denmark making one of those BS goals.

Paraguay did really great today, Slovakia had no chance. 2-0 is really great.

Italy played like shit today. They could've easily beaten New Zealand because they suck. If it wasn't for that penalty kick, Italy might've dropped out...

I didn't watch the Brazil and Ivory Coast game, but I heard it was good.

My thoughts on today's first two games:

Portugal-North Korea:
North Korea always was the strongest contender to be the tournament's last place, and Portugal just showed us that, and they showed us that they are also a contender for the title, even when they are in the group with Brazil and CIV.

Chile-Switzerland:
I think this is the toughest group in the tournament. All teams here have a great level. Well, perhaps Honduras not....

Group G panorama:
Brazil: Already qualified
Portugal: Win to go 1st. Tie to go 2nd. If they lose, they need CIV not to win.
North Korea: Elminated

Spain-Honduras
Spain definitely improved. We saw the VIlla we missed from the 2008 Euro. But beating Honduras is no big merit...

Group H panorama:
Chile: WIn or tie. If they lsoe they need Switzerland not to win
Spain: Get a better result than Switzerland. If they get the same one, it will depend on the goals
Switzerland: Same as Spain
Honduras: Win, and Spain to lose
