Can you believe that today marks the second anniversary of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, as well as the first for Super Mario Bros. Wonder? Time just flies doesn't it? Happy anniversary to these two fantastic games!

You know what we need, in my opinion? A console release of Plants vs. Zombies 1, 2, or both for this generation consoles. This year is the series 15th anniversary, and it needs some love (besides the constant retries for PvZ 3 and the last game Batter for Neighborville back in, what, 2018?)

My idea for that is kind of based on how Minecraft was ported to the switch. In my vision of how this could work, you swap between plants with L and R, move your cursor with the L Stick, move on the plant grid with the D-Pad, place plants with A, dig up plants with B, and fire items like the Cob Cannon's corn projectile with one A press on that plant, and another where you'd like to launch it. It could also work in handheld with the touchscreen, almost replicating the original game with a toggle. Is there anything I missed, @Dracula Robin?

EDIT: I think there's also a console version that has been used before, but that was back in the XBox 360 timeframe, I believe

Well one other major thing is collecting sun/coins, and I guess powers ups and plant food in PvZ 2. Overall your idea is solid and well thought out but I still think that playing on a controller would be a bit finicky and difficult and that the game would need to be rebalanced around it (which in turn is going to cause balancing issues if touchscreen play is also an option), whereas the same isn't true to the same extent with Minecraft console editions.

Maybe there could be an autocollect system for sun and coins, for if the cursor is close enough to it, say in a grid sqaure or something, it would collect it for you? And for the power ups and plant food, that could also be a bindable button or group, where you go between them using the triggers and use Y or X to apply them? I'm not sure about that one, but maybe touchscreen isn't needed to play, preventing.a whole rebalance needed just to use touch controls. It sill be a bit finicky, yes, but if EA could make it work, I'd buy it
I hadn't seen it yet but now I have... thank you all for voting my section last month to second in the Critic Corner! Nothing beats Anton's reviews though, and I respect that
What the Hex?!

I just tried playing SMM1 on my Wii U and got an update for it and now all my save data is gone??

All the levels I created over the last 5 years, all the levels I made sure to download before online dissappeared earlier this year, all gone.
Be sure to check out Fake News in today's issue of The 'Shroom, as I'm finally back in action with the Cooking Guide thanks to the assistance of a certain sorky spectre, and a surprise guest will be joining us to dish out their trademark sass. Sport Report: The Movie is still on hiatus 'til next month though, but I hope you'll enjoy the return of Cooking Guide!

It's nice to see Cooking Guide again!

@Hooded Pitohui I agree, it's great to be back in action after a three month hiatus for self-care! If it weren't for Boo1268 reaching out to me to offer another team-up on Cooking Guide, I probably wouldn't have been involved in this issue at all, so be sure to shower the Fancy Phantom with immense gratitude for making Cooking Guide possible this month! And be sure to check back again next month for a new edition of Cooking Guide, as starting next month, Cooking Guide will be going on a bi-monthly schedule, meaning that while you'll see Cooking Guide less often, you're guaranteed to get more high quality culinary creations fresh from the Mushroom World and beyond!
Due to every unforeseeable circumstance charging at me, I will not be in tomorrow's Shroom. Or the next, or maybe ever again. My school went on a blocking spree, blocking even here, and have access to all my documents, so I'll likely get in trouble. I will eventually write it somewhere, but it unfortunately had to end like this. I'm sorry y'all :( Oh, I forgot. It's officially been one year since I joined the forum! I'm glad that this has happened, and I wish for many more.

I just don't go on the site at school, it's blocked on the network anyway (like the actual network not just goguardian so I can't even use my phone). But it works just fine at home

Blocking sites is stupid and annoying, though. Doesn't stop kids from vaping in the bathrooms

Not like anyone asked but as far as my personal feelings toward Nintendo...I like them in some ways and dislike them in other ways. I don't completely like everything about them because not everything about them is good, and I don't completely hate them either because not everything about them is bad-I both like them and dislike them-in different ways. I like the things about them that are good and dislike the things about them that are bad. I like the awesome franchises they have that I am a fan of and how creative and cool they usually are and like how good their games are but I don't like how they crack down on emulation and fangames. I like how they usually put a lot of hard work and good quality into most of their games and they turn out good most of the time and any flaws they have are small, but dislike how they make you often pay for remastered versions of the same game over and over again. However despite my mixed feelings about all that, I overall really am attached personally to Nintendo because they were part of my childhood, and if they went out of business, I would be very sad, as I would have no more (new) Nintendo games to play. So yeah. I like Nintendo-meaning I like the good things about them-but I also dislike the things about them that are bad and so dislike Nintendo in those ways. My feelings are mixed. So I guess you could say I both like AND dislike them. Personally as far as what I dislike most about them, I've always been angry about the cracking down on emulation and fangames. Like-I recently found out (I was never expecting this was so) that fan games, if people want to play them instead of actual games from the companies themselves, actually take money AWAY from the companies-but-like-why does it matter; Nintendo is the RICHEST company in Japan and already has plenty of freaking money. And besides that, like, Sega for instance is nicer about this to its fans than Nintendo is even though they probably KNOW they might lose some money because of these fangames, but they don't care; they love their fanbase and like seeing them ambitiously create fangames to express their love for Sonic-they're not greedy for profits, even though compared to Nintendo they're second rate because Sonic doesn't sell as much games as Nintendo and Sega overall doesn't make nearly as much money. So Nintendo is greedy-just like almost every single other company out there. So yeah, long story short-I like Nintendo-as far as the games it puts out and its franchises and the creativity that often goes into those games and how fun those games are to play-but I really do not agree with or care for the inner workings or politics of Nintendo. I like Nintendo-but I don't like EVERYTHING about them. In fact, the things I dislike about them I dislike A LOT. And for good reason.
Would you, could you in a box, would you, could you with a fox?

If the box was big enough, yeah, I could try, but I don't think I biologically could with a fox

I wonder why there are so many "Would you rather" threads? They've been popping up more and more as of late.

I think it's a running meme in this community at the moment
Hooded Pitohui
Hooded Pitohui
Indeed. It's not uncommon for trends to pop up in Mindless Junk, where one thread riffs on another thread's structure to make a joke of some kind. Oftentimes, once you get two or three such mimics, it kicks off the creation of a whole heap of threads joining in the meme.

It does seem pretty unlikely they'll turn up again. They were only available for a month and almost nobody has heard of them.
