    Nope, he's not credited for it. The similarity is probably coincidental. There are only so many ways to do those little "here are some short soundclips strung together" type of voices.


    That said, some of the Twilighters do sound rather like Sans, don't they?

    Why do 99.9% of all YouTubers let the fame go to their heads if you give them even the slightest bit of it?

    The reasons are complex and it's not possible to paint every case with a broad brush, but I would reckon fame tends to warp how people view their relationships to everyone else. Massive attention from the public invites constant scrutiny, harsh criticism from strangers, and excessive praise/fawning all at once. Attention is already a heck of a drug on its own. Consider how stimulating it is (for better or for worse - sometimes you're exhausted and still can't look away from the computer) to see online chatter and messages, especially concerning yourself. Multiply that greatly, and suddenly you're awash in this stimulation that you're going to keep craving even if it's actively making you feel worse.


    Then add to that a sense of being "critic proof". You have to shut out the most vitriolic comments from your critics, because people can say truly nasty things behind the anonymity of a screen, but it's easy to slip from there into denying and deflecting all criticism. Then your decision to disregard criticism is easy to justify, because you have all these legions of fans praising you. You must be doing something right, right?

    So you're awash in a level of attention you've probably never had before, you're craving more of it, which starts turning people from people into... well, merely fans, potential fans, and folks who don't like you, and you're incentivized to move as many people from that middle category into the other two (even negative attention is attention!). That's already changing your dynamic with the people around you. Add on that shutting out your critics and embedding yourself in an endless stream of praise making you feel smugly superior to a lot of other people, another change in how you relate to everyone else. Maybe you also become obsessed with comparing yourself to other famous folks, another way in which the way you relate to others can warp! You start to see yourself as powerful and talented, and it becomes easier to justify exploiting people around you. After all, they're inferior to you! They should be thankful you let them have the opportunity to work for/with you at all! Maybe on top of all of this, your life circumstances are changing, because, say, this has all made you wealthier, so even there the way you relate to other people is undergoing a massive change.

    All of these rapid changes, all of this new self-perceptions, all of these new ways of relating to people around you, it's going to change how you behave.

    This is my personal opinion, but I'm not really a fan of the Extreme Home Makeover reboot, and I think replacing Ty Pennington with Jesse Tyler Ferguson was a mistake. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Jesse, but given that Jesse is an actor and I know him from Modern Family, when I see him hosting a reality show, I simply don't see Jesse Tyler Ferguson, I see his most popular character, Mitchell Pritchett instead, and for some reason, it makes me uncomfortable. With Ty Pennington, I never felt anything awkward watching him at work because Ty wasn't an actor like Jesse is, so when I see Ty, I actually see him instead of a fictional character like I do with Jesse.

    Given that September is gonna be here in about two weeks, I'm already planning my theme for that month, and I have decided to have my September theme be an Animal Crossing villager that has remained exclusive to Dobutso no Mori e+ and not reappeared in a single Animal Crossing game afterward. I'm thinking of choosing between Jūbei and Madam Rosa. Which of the two should I go with?

    Did everyone enjoy themselves during the Awards last night? I'd say that I did so myself. Got to chat with some fine people here and there, got to see some well deserved wins in the Community Awards, and I got to thank those who liked my 'Shroom sections enough to cast their votes for me in the categories I was nominated in. So all in all, it was a night well spent for me last night.

    Any group that reaches a large enough size is going to end up with a number of vocal, particularly demanding, and oftentimes obnoxious individuals within it. It's the nature of large groups in general. Focus on finding small comfortable niches within your fandoms and tune out those types of folks.

    One of the users here is Goombuigi, so maybe E-103 Delta? I've only played Paper Mario out of the two games but have heard mostly good things about Sonic Adventure.

    I continue to get haunted by my past mistakes, both witnessed and committed. The guilt from the mistakes is destroying me on the inside, and I feel incredibly helpless on an almost daily basis. I wish I could go back in time to erase my mistakes, but I know very well that I can't, so I have to continue to live with the guilt of my mistakes every day for the rest of my life.

    If you're in a position where the guilt is consuming you like this, you have two options: either you do something about it, or you don't and remain stagnant. None of us can make you do either, but if I were you, I would find a way to do something about it. If you're looking at yourself and your behavior and saying "I wish this were different", the obvious next step is to change. The people you know can offer you pointers, but nobody can tell you how to change. You need to do that by experimenting, getting uncomfortable, and empowering yourself.

    Like, if you're looking at this from the framework of "I've made the same mistakes for ten years", then yeah, that does sound like something worth adjusting. But you can't become consumed by guilt; you have to let it bolster you. If you're being haunted, figure out how to get rid of the ghosts. Be better because you want to be better for yourself, and don't wallow in it along the way. That's how you get somewhere and make a change.

    Growth isn't linear, but it needs to be intentional.

    Hey Clawgrip, sorry to hear you're feeling like this. I can really relate to what you're going through as I myself have made a ton of big mistakes in life. I used to be crushed by the guilt and spent all the time wishing I could go back in time to do things differently, and it took a long time to get over this.

    And sure, yes, if I could go back there are things I would want to do differently. But why waste time dwelling on things that get me down, and which I can never change, when I could instead be looking forward and focusing on making new happy memories, starting today? Ironically enough, I actually have regret over wasting a lot of time dwelling on my regrets rather than living every moment to the fullest so I learned from that.

    None of us are perfect. Virtually everyone has at some point done something wrong and later regretted and in that respect we're all in the same tunnel. Sure, some of us may be further down the tunnel than others, but still, we are all in that tunnel. And there are many people who are as far down the tunnel as you are, possibly including me.

    You're not the same person you were years ago, and if you learn from your mistakes and do your best to be a good person today and going forward then that's all that matters.

    Take these words to heart, Clawgrip: You deserve to forgive and love yourself. You don't deserve to be haunted.
