Was not expecting someone to win in 4 mins lol when I only have 6 seconds left!
In the end I made a modification to King Kaliente's fight to make him much faster since yeah it wasn't working otherwise.
Dino Piranha - just Bowser Jr. he was meant to be quick and easy
King Kaliente - Bowser with a pipe dropping koopas, you throw them into the pit and when you do three they hit a POW block which defeats Bowser. Obviously this mimmicks sending things back three times whilst being blasted with fire in front of a lava (bubble) sea.
Major Burrows - some moles, with the sinking platforms to mimmick how you're always having to be quick to avoid damage. The big one has the key.
Bouldergeist - the stone blocks which you blow up with Bob-ombs just like the bomb boos in the original. The Boos are there because it's a ghost themed thing. The platforms are to simulate how the level is kind of chaotic and you need good timings. Chain chomp throws more attacks at you but can be eliminated by a Bob-omb. Once you gain access to the Koopa, you need a Bob-omb to kill it, just like you needed one more bomb boo to get rid of Bouldergeist's spirit form in the original. Phase 2 is basically the same but with two hammer bros to simulate the additional attacks and more platforms meaning you need even better timing. Unlike with the original, Phase 2 here may be easier than Phase 1 as it's harder to miss the platform making it easy to reach the Koopa. Unfortunately it didn't seem possible to stop the Hammer Bros. jumping out of the stone so they're actually quite easy to get rid of.
Fiery Dino Piranha - there wasn't much I could think of which would simulate the fight accurately so I had pipes with mushrooms and giant Koopas and a giant Bowser since this is kind of like a big monster with fire everywhere and you attack with big things that you send towards it. The fight is quite hard to lose if you make sure to always pick up the mushroom but if you're low on time you have to be quick with the big koopa shells.

Ummm... I kept hearing random ads when using the internet but I checked all my tabs and none of them seemed responsible. Then I opened the volume mixer and found one of the "proxycheck" things was playing. I muted it and the ads stopped. Is this a bad sign of anything?
I've been working on a remake of Throwback Throwdown Speed Run and I'm actually pretty happy with it
Only thing is... it's quite hard. I wanted the time limit to be 5 mins like the original level, but I'm still unsure if it's even possible to win in that little time. I think it's possible to beat Dino Piranha, Major Burrows, and Bouldergeist combined in under 100s, and the rest of the course takes a negligible amount of time to complete. I established that I can beat Fiery Dino Piranha in under 100s (maybe a little more if I'm really good with Bouldergeist, but that fight is quite hard to optimise) so if I manage to optimise King Kaliente then I think it should be possible (but very difficult as it should be.)
So, just checked out your 3D Land first level remake, and dropped a star on it. Only thing I wanted to tell you was...I definitely understand that it's hard to translate a 3D level to 2D, but maybe tone down on the Goombas? I felt like there were way too many.

Umm sorry for announcing this a bit late, but I did finish the Grand Star Rescue but I'm not really satisfied enough with it to upload it.
Wait? Can I solve the bunny problem using two sets of keys, one in the normal world and one in the sub world?
I'd have to put either the planet section or the bunny section into the sub world but so long as the bunny chase works, I'm happy
Unfortunately I forgot to save yesterday so I had to start from stratch with Grand Star Rescue.
Thankfully I got most of it back, and I pretty much finished it. I even suceeded with Ceave's contraption, though I'm still trying to figure out a way to extend P-switch signals. There's a few other things that need tweaking, but the main issue is how I'm going to implement the bunny catching. Key coins exist but I use that for the star bits later on so that won't work. I tried to use just multiple keys but the door limit would make the rest of the level's design impossible. I tried springs but thanks to how weirdly they work in terms of dissappearing and respawning that didn't work either. I'm not giving up though!

The first is the 3D Land remake I was talking about. It's quite hard as a lot of the jumps are tricky and you can't make many mistakes. If you're going for WR I suggest you use the P-wing and Invincible Tanooki Suit. I won't say exactly how I implemented those, but if you dig around you can find it...
The second is a remake of 3D Land's 1-4. I started remaking 1-3 before half-way through realising I was remixing the wrong level! This one is simple and just uses the skeleton train thing. Tip: you can cheese the second half with the tanooki suit after entering the mystery box area.
My next project is remixing Grand Star Rescue in NSMBU style. It's a lot harder since Galaxy is a lot more different from traditional 2D Mario than 3D Land and the door limit is becoming a bit of an obstacle. Might have to change those houses on the first planet to just have wooden blocks for doors. The theming is a lot more tricky - there is no space theme and SMM1 doesn't even have a night-time. I decided that Underground would be the closest match. Not sure how I'm going to do the part where you hit the panel's on the floor, but I'm considering Ceave's "YaTouchedAllTheCoinsDidYa".Remake 3D world levels
So I made the final level remake from 3D Land, but it's admittedly too hard for me to beat the final boss! I'll keep grinding and once I'm done I'll post it here. It's not like RNG difficult if that was a concern.

It's just a weak remake of 1-1 (the normal one) from 3D Land. It wasn't carefully reconstructed just kind of done in a few minutes to as well as I could remember. I also left out the star coins etc. but I think I at least captured the gist of the level and the tanooki suit (thanks SMB3).
There's a secret block near the goomba which gives you a tanooki suit, as well as one on the left side of the second floating panel which takes you to an above place which would be where the third star coin is - the tanooki suit is still there
Well, if anyone wants to check out any of the levels I'm sure to make you know where to find them

Played MP6 now. I like it a little bit but rn I still much prefer MP9. I don't have time to fully write out the reasons now but all in all it generally feels quite outdated.
The memory space on my Wii U is dissappearing quickly. Would it really be that bad to use a USB flash drive to save money? -
