Are you talking about the 3D feature? I myself just keep it off. Otherwise, the graphics are just like the other 3D titles (particularly the later ones, where the polygonal structure is less evident, and the resolution is much higher).

I guess there are places where there are optical illusions, but that was done as part of the challenge of the game. (Like pyramids of blocks in certain places, or where I'm up to now, on Special 4 Airship, the second set of yellow temporary blocks to get the second star coin. It looks like it is closer than it is, and I kept going off into the void).

It's hard to find people. I have only met one person on streetpass and I left my 3DS on by accident.

You turn StreetPass on, and when you pass by someone with a 3DS, stuff will automatically be sent to you and from you to their 3DS.

That's how Nintendo explained it in all the videos about it, and it's how it's been working for me so far.
