I wonder why all the reviewers attacked it for being too easy without mentioning the special worlds
 
Reviewers tend to leave those parts out (unfortunately). Just like how they "forget" to review about things such as the online mode of Mario Sports Mix.

Why don't you beat the ENTIRE GAME including the more challenging Special Worlds before you pass judgement on it? Yeah the early levels are so easy they are boring. I'm in the middle of World 4 just got it yesterday preordered from Game Spot got Toonki Mar keychain. Middle of world 4 I'm at, got all Star Coins, and I have not died a single time yet. Not once. I haven't even been hit. I kid you not. But I assume it will get harder as promised by some because I love a good challenge I love to strut my stuff and brag about beating hard games. I hope there will at least be another Perfect Run-esque reputation challenge.

There are 16 world in total, of which 8 normal Worlds, and 8 special Worlds, which are unlocked after saving Peach.
The special Worlds are much harder to complete than the normal ones.
 
Yeah, it gets better near the end. The beginning is so simple and boring though. The whole non-special world part of the game is very easy. It does get a little tougher at the end, but it those levels still on took a few tries to beat.

Do you have to beat every level, including every special level, 100% with both Mario and Luigi, like in SMG?

Ending spoiler:
The scene right after the final boss made me laugh. Bowser is dramatically falling, when suddenly, a block smashes into his face.
 
Level with flipping green blocks? Go to area with flagpole but go left and you will see bricks so break it and go through

I got this game yesterday and I think it's awesome! I have 100% on the levels I've done so far.
