Wii U

this isn't a system update though

this is one for an APPLICATION

so if i turn off the wii u now

will it become bricked

No idea.

Download is a download, so it isn't supposed to happen, although I heard from friends, that their Wii U get bricked while downloading, which is strange.
But still, an Application that takes so much to download makes the situation even worse.

should i just turn off the wii u?

because that is my only real solution right now

i should say the application is hulu plus

i just wanted to see what it looked like :'(

Turn off, and try again, but I don't know it's the right thing to do, but it seems like it's the only possibility for you.

i called the nintendo hotline

and it seems like even THEY'RE confused

i'm on hold right now and stuff

Unplug your internet router

not a system update

edit: okay so they told me to unplug and then replug the ac adapter

i got to log in

and then it froze

they told me to wait a minute, unplug & replug

i got to log in

it loaded a little more

then it froze

so they told me to unplug for a while

and replug it in after a few hours

I have that problem last week and it stopped freezing now so you need to unplug your INTERNET router then enter Wii U menu then delete your internet setting to stay in offline for about 4 days or less/more so it will solve the problem itself

i'll try that

in 55 minutes

so essentially you're telling me to unplug the internet router

turn on the wii u hope it works

and then make the internet go offline for a while

okay then

i unplugged the internet router

i turned the wii u on

and it froze

.....well, my last solution is to send it in to nintendo and...idk play gamecube games on mah wii for the time being

i haven't finished sunshine or adventure 2: battle, so i've got some time on my hands

I'm really glad that my Wii U has not froze yet. I have had no problems at all, nor do I plan on having one.

I'm not that surprised with these problems as you got to understand how new and somewhat experimental the Wii U is. Think about it - a system that allows you play both on the Television and a GamePad. It completely combines the Handheld and Console gaming into one package, though it's very limited as a handheld. This is something that is way up from the other competitors.

Now, I'm sure that Nintendo did their best to have the system be a success, but I'm pretty sure they knew that there would be a few errors that will have to tweak. Again, I expect a few more updates before more games really come out. Heck, the first buyers are kind of like a test dummy (sorry for lack of better word choice).

I think they were brave to make the Wii U, and I think they did a great job at keeping it very fair in price, yet enough to fund their stuff.

Are you sure that you 100% unplugged your internet router because it always work on everyone and have you heard loud horn noise when your Wii U froze?

I find it nice that they're acknowledging the problems with the Wii U.

Hopefully they do get around to fixing the problems soon.

So, yesterday, me and my friend went to EB games, and they had a Wii U there, so I started playing the demo for NSMBU.

And while we were there, this little girl came up to us and wanted to play as well, so I gave her the gamepad and told her to help put the platforms on.

And it was actually fun. The girl actually knew when to put platforms down, and she actually helped. And when I asked her if she wanted to play as Mario, she said she preferred playing Boost Mode.

And I thought "Wow, Nintendo is really good at this. You know, getting everyone to play"

That's actually pretty sweet.

I wonder if I could get my parents to try. Doubt it, but it could work if they use the gamepad for blocks instead of a character.

Also, I've decided to not install like extra things I probably don't need. Like extra apps or whatever, to avoid having the console freeze and brick. Whatever it does to fuck it up, I'll just play the games for now.

Not true. Sometimes, Assassin's Creed 3 froze for me, whereas neither Miiverse nor any other application has caused the console to freeze. There's no surefire game or application that will cause the console to freeze for everyone.
