Wii U

Everything, including save files that normally don't allow copying, will be transferred.

So, even the ancient and killed Twilight Hack?
That would be funny.

They are trying to stress the importance of 3rd parties and such, but we all know that Nintendo is like "yeah, we don't have are usual sales because we were waiting to see if 3rd parties will do crap for us."

Well, it's up to the 3rd party developers to make games for the Wii U. They can't exactly force them to make games for their consoles.

They can motivate them (read: give them money) to develop for the Wii U though, doing nothing won't solve anything.

Wii U DevKits are, even though they have lowered their prices a half year ago, still way to expensive.
It's the main reason for smaller companies, that there are still not enough games.
Bigger companies have different reasons, like not enough Console Sales.

I've got my first Wii U game registered at Nintendo, and it's Approved and everything, but the earliest possible month I can afford one DevKit, is in October.
It's this expensive.

For the first time ever I played a Wii U(my cousins) last week sometime. Nintendo Land. Was definitely better than I thought it'd be.

Now I await when he gets Pikmin 3 and we play that.

So I found this month-old article on EA.

EA doesn't make Wii U-games because of 'offline-exprerience'

One of the reasons that Electronic Arts hasn't announced new Wii U-games, is because Wii U-players do not show enough interest in online gaming.

EA's Peter Moore told this to Gamesindustry.biz. "The lack of interest in online gaming on Wii U [is worrying us]", says Moore.

"It's very important for what we do. The audience is so small, it's barely worthy to keep servers online for. It looks like a device not equal with EA's future - where a large social aspect is needed for our games. The Wii U currently feels like an offline-experience."

On Wii U launch, EA launched four Wii U games, including FIFA 13 and Mass Effect 3. The company also launched Need for Speed: Most Wanted earlier this year. The sales of these titles could be better: "It's a disappointment when looking at the sales and as a company we should be careful with where we use sources for."

Earlier today, Ubisoft said that the sales of Wii U games also disappoint. ZombiU didn't make enough profit and therefor, a sequel will be ruled out for the time being.

Translation: Sucks that Nintendo didn't use our Origin service, they'll get no games from us!

Well, I can't say much, but reading the Nintendo News Groups (the official one), it looks like EA is working on a 3DS game (the person was asking a question about a 3DS specific requirement Nintendo might want to see).
I don't know which game it is, and I don't know how many games, but I can see one question from an EA employee, dated from 23 May 2013 to 29 May 2013.

However, only EA and Nintendo know what it is, so don't ask me for any further details, because I have no clue.

The last Wii U-specific question was in the end of January 2013, so it's possible they're no longer working on anything for it.

I can fully understand why EA isn't making anything for Wii U, to few Consoles are shipped for investors and AAA Companies to be interested.
Only Nintendo can solve this problem by adding more First Party games to the Wii U.

The problem is that EA is also developing games for the PS4 and Xbox One, both which have a total install base of zero. Also, EA's full of scumbags anyways.

So that means the same problem existed with the Wii U, back in 2012? Lol!

Many Developers still have trust in the PS4 and Xbox One, because they're usually rating the previous Generations successes, when the Consoles aren't out yet.
The Wii was a massive success, so why should they skip the Wii U?
They started to skip it, as soon as they noticed it doesn't sell well.
No sales = no gamers, and no gamers = no Developers, and no Developers = no sales, and repeat this circle in an infinite loop.

If you ask me what the hell I still do with the Wii U, it's because, unlike a big AAA company, I'm not aiming for as many sales as possible, I'm aiming on enjoyment.
Like, I enjoy doing my work, and even more when gamers enjoy my work.
And if sales don't go well, I still have a YouTube Channel as an income source.

And that's what I'm trying to explain all the time.
Nintendo Consoles are depended on Nintendo games.
Gamers buy a Nintendo Console for Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, etc., and then they buy other games on the go.

For now, the Wii U has to many games that are also available on the Xbox 360 and PS3, and so many gamers already have one of the 2 Consoles (or both), it makes the Wii U not have any additional value.

That's not what I'm saying at all.

Third parties can't bitch about there being "no audience" when they refuse to create the audience to begin with.

"You don't buy a Wii U for third parties" shouldn't be an excuse for them to not be there. Why should Nintendo-only gamers be given the finger if their console can run game just fine, because companies just don't want to make games. (ie: EA)

It's a lose-lose situation, as several people on other sites have pointed out.

Third parties complain that the Wii U/Nintendo console has no audience and no games for it so they don't develop games for it. When Nintendo starts developing games for it, third parties complain that their games can't compete with Nintendo's games and don't develop for it. I hope when EA and others start groveling back, Nintendo just tells them to fuck off, but that'd be bad for their image. Y'know, all I got to say is "oh well". Starting tomorrow with Pikmin 3, there seems to be at least one Wii U game a month till the end of the year worth getting, at least in my opinion.

Tabuu, a Wii U is not a PS4 or Xbox One, where Third Party games have more audience than First Party, that's why we're all waiting for Nintendo's actions.
I should also add, Unity3D for Wii U is still in Beta, and as long as this remains the fact, only the big Indies can release their games on the Wii U eShop, smaller ones have to wait, even if their game is already finished for months.

Xspike, I'm not saying that Third Party games aren't on Wii U because people don't buy them, I say that Third Party games aren't on Wii U because there isn't enough attention from Nintendo to make people buy a Wii U to begin with.

Gamefreak, Nintendo is a company that wants to earn money, good games are required for that, and Nintendo alone can't do that, so I don't see their "GTFO" message ever happening.
And I wouldn't complain about the compete part, as I said before, I want to deliver a product to entertain people, not to get cash from (I'll still be asking a little fee, but that's for the living).

Before asking, GameDev doesn't always cost a hell lot of money, stuff can be kept cheap if you have (almost) no Team, and use the same DevKits for a way longer time.
I know Age Ratings and not passing the Lot Check costs a lot of money, but Nintendo said it's no longer the case.
Well, I'll see it in the next few months.

Okay. I was going to make a whole rant here but re-read MKGirlism's posts... And she has the right idea.

I will say the third-parties' cancelling production of games or delaying development for the Wii U is merely their choice of "prejudice" towards Nintendo's Wii U by the fact of how little recognition it gets from the general population(you and i). It's no wonder they don't want to bother with a otherwise "failing system" and lose profits. This is at least what I believe the psychology is behind their stupid business motives.

Simple: It didn't come out yet.
For a Developer, Investor, Publisher, and Trade person, a Console fails if it doesn't sell well after it comes out, not before.

That's actually one of the reasons why I'm not really interested in the Wii U. Most of the games you can get on other consoles and for less money.
