So I watched the two-parter today, and I do have a few comments I could make on the episode. The first one being that Sombra, whose involvement I found rather weak in comparison to Chrysalis', Discord's and Nightmare Moon's involvement in their respective episodes, and that he really didn't get to do much at all. Now, one might argue that Sombra's involvement in the episode was the door that would show you your greatest fear (which made me think of Boggarts), the introduction of his 'shadow-y magic', and some other thing which I'm probably forgetting about.
Now, I did enjoy the part where Twilight Sparkle flipped her gravitational pull 180°, thereby allowing her to use the spiral staircase as a slide; and I also probably found most of the comedial instances the most noteworthy examples here being Pinkie Pie dressing up as Fluttershy, Rarity getting trolled (I know that it's a bad word to use, but I couldn't think of any better word to use, so yeah) by Applejack and Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie being a spy appealing to me. Additionally, Spike getting a major role in this episode greatly appealed to me, and hearing Celestia's comment to Twilight after the crystal kingdom had been saved also appealed to me.
Overall, I found the episode to be neatly made, but the villain itself was a bit of a disappointment to me.
Now I wonder whether they'll be making a new villain for the season finale or if they'll be reusing an old one, and in which case they do I hope they're going to reuse Discord, because his character could be more fleshed out.
