I liked that one, too... Although I HAVE heard critique in regards of Rainbow Dash's treatment of the animals...

Animal cruelty is ALWAYS hilarious!

The complaint also regards how the other ponies did nothing to stop her from pushing the animals too far.

But the animals were willing contestants the real episode where she pushes ponies to far is Hurricane Fluttershy

That's true... In fact that's kind of the argument I used against the guy... I also didn't like how she was pushing Thunderland too hard, just because she wanted to be a record; NOT to make the necessary wingpower, just look impressive, and it turned out to be her own undoing. Some people used the argument that she genuinely thought he was faking, but really, what basis does she have to think that?

That entire subplot thing is the reason I don't like that episode I thought it was poorly done and a shitty excuse to have Fluttershy come to the rescue

At the very least, it dives into Fluttershy's psyche, and gives us a reason why she's so shy, and gives us some character growth. And even though I hate how Rainbow Dash treats everyone else, I like how supportive she is to Fluttershy.

I don't remember anything else other then being happy they didn't break the record

Clearly, you missed the entire point of the episode. Also, they were happy because they managed to make the 800 wingpower at all with the numbers they had, thanks in part to Fluttershy finding the courage to push herself to the limit which motivated everyone else..

i'm not surprised I missed the point most episodes of mlp ended up being back ground filler (meaning they were in the background while I did other things) and that episode was in general meh (I base that off of the fact that I remember very little of it)

Applebuck Season I can kind of excuse, since it was her first episode and all that, but The Last Round-Up, I can NOT believe for one second that she'd go so far just to cover up the fact that she lost. Like, she not only abandons her family, but nearly GETS HERSELF KILLED, along with some innocents (the stallions driving the wagon), all just because she didn't win any blue ribbons... Some people try to turn it around, saying she was more more nervous about winning the prize money, in which case... fine, I can understand that, but she openly admits to sending the money eventually, not to mention, both she and the episode as a whole seem to make a bigger deal out of not winning blue ribbons as opposed to the money deal.

As for the humor... I'm sorry, I just don't find Amy Keating Rogers' brand of humor funny, ESPECIALLY in regards of Pinkie Pie. When are writers going to learn that obnoxious/annoying characters ARE NOT FUNNY, they're OBNOXIOUS/ANNOYING, not just to the characters in the TV show/movie/whatever, but to the audience as well!

Sending the Money eventually would of meant taking such a long time to get that kind of cash. I doubt being the motor for the Cherry machine was going to take a short amount of time to get the money. And the town did put alot of pressue on Applejack on getting the ribbons/prize money to fix town hall. Applejack's one with alot of pride, she was afraid of disappointing everyone if she came back empty-handed. Her pride and her stubborness drove her to deal with the shame by eventually working for the money. Yes she almost abandons her family and friends, but that's exactly what she needed to learn by the episode's end. Which led to the kinda cheesy, but still IMO heartwarming ending. I'm fine if you don't like Last Round-Up but it's still in my Top 10 of Season 2.

And I for one found Last Round-Up to be very funny. Especially Pinkie Pie. So humor is subjective in this case.

Oh boy another episode where she gets to be a sue.

Not exactly liking the title, and it sounds like another episode of Flutter's shyness issues, as if we haven't already had enough of those.

We can't exactly judge an episode by it's title. :V

yep nabber was right

(If this is true then this outta be a pretty fun episode.)
This... has got to be the best Christmas present of them all. :D

Especially given that Fluttershy was the only one that Discord had to force her into brainwashing... She's the PERFECT one to try and reform him!

Don't ruin this moment for the rest of us.

Besides, 'tis the season, right?

Color me very hyped for that episode. Ever since Hurricane Fluttershy she's become my on again, off again 2nd favorite pony. If this episode turns out awesome, she may get a permanent spot as #2.

OKAY SO WHEN DISCORD FINALLY COMES BACK ITS IN A FLUTTERSHY EPISODE GREAT JUST GREAT

and what does that even have to do with the title

I'm wondering if this means Discord will have some sort of role in the Season Finale. Having a free Discord (Even if he''s no longer evil) sounds like something that can really be a game changer for the show. And although I'm really hyped for this episode. I do wonder what the hell is Celestia thinking. Is there something coming up where they need Discord to be an ally in order to win? If so, what could be so bad that they need to bring back and reform a former BIG bad in order to defeat it?

Also, I love Discord, but this episode is sounding way too cliched.

Most episodes of the show can be considered cliche, it's hard to find an episode of the show hasn't been done before in some way or another and even if you find one. It's surrounded by all the other ones that have been covered in other cartoons. It's the quality of the show and the characters that breathe new life into those cliches

Pinkie Pie! Chocolate Rain that isn't coming from someone evil!

(and meta-wise all the people who ship Discord with anypony for some reason or another)

Reforming the living embodiment of chaos? What the hell?

Also to people insulting Applejack episodes: what about The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000? Does that count as an Applejack episode? It was tad overrated, but still awesome. (Yes I can like something while acknowledging it's a bit overrated.)

And honestly Hurricane Fluttershy was a little boring to me for some reason. Putting Your Hoof Down keeps its place as my favorite Fluttershy episode.
