I think sometime we'll probably get a Parent visits Ponyville episode. Even if it's one we've already seen like Twilight's parents (Though I wouldn't mind that at all, we never heard them speak in the flashback episode and besides we'd see a bit more of nervous Twilight I'm sure)

But I think we will see some more of the Main 6's Parents I'm sure. Not just Twilight and Pinkie's
 
So, let me get this straight.
Discord has been released, and separated the ponies, Twilight has to get them back, and they weren't in the maze in the first place.

There's something Inception-ish here.
 
Because all of the hypnoshenanigans resulted in an opposite of each pony. What's the opposite of no magic? As the title of the show is "Friendship is Magic", I suspect that having all of her friends turn on each other singles her out, weakening her magic and stuff.
 
Probably because it would be hard to corrupt magic. With kindness, you can change it to meanness, generousity to selfishness and so on, but magic? That's a hard one

Like what Anton and Goombella said. Discord also said Twilight has the most powerful and elusive element perhaps meaning that he can't really corrupt magic easily. And at least for the game he kind of already does it by seperating the other 5 and removing her horn. Twilight's element is different since it isn't a feeling like Loyalty or Kindness is.

Unless No Magic counts in which he does by removing Twi's horn there is no opposite to Magic.

Only for during the Hedge Maze. He gives the Horns and Wings back to the Pegasi and Unicorns in the group after it's all done.

Also, I have no possible way of watching Season 2 till 2012.

That's what I think, I want to see Rainbow dash's parents. And fluttershy, her parents would be cool.

Really, what CAN she do? Her magic is shown not to work on Discord's antics, and she's nothing without her friends help. Since they're the only one's connected to the Elements of Harmony and they're only connected if they work together and embody their elements, Twilight's basically useless.
 
The 2nd part was a really neat episode. The Ending was a bit meh but overall all the characters got some good moments in

The Elements being in all the Book might be a little cheaper then them being in the Everfree Forest but at least just putting them on didn't turn the others back. It's the fact that all the letters from Season 1 that turned the tide. There were also alot of great faces in this episode.

Shame there's still no Luna but she's probably saved for something where she's more important

Discord was turned to Stone again. So that MIGHT leave it open just enough for another appearence but we don't know for sure.

I expect Spike being the new Rainbow Dash to be an in-joke

EDIT: Though there is this sinking feeling that it feels more like the real finale to Season 1 (Which makes sense since I heard these episodes were worked on pretty much right after Season 1) rather then the beginning of Season 2. But it was still nice. Too bad we'll have to wait a few weeks for the rest of Season 2 to start
 
My thoughts on part 2:

So, um... Great episode, I think...

I don't know why, but a lot of things stuck out to me...

I didn't really like how easily Twilight was able to revert her friends back to normal... It was established in part 1 that her magic didn't effect Discord's antics. I also didn't like how they rushed through Fluttershy's, Rarity's, and Pinkie Pie's reversion.

It's also sad to see Discord turned back into stone. I guess he isn't going to be a recurring antagonist after all... Unless Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo release him again. That's another thing I noticed, even though we saw Big Macintosh and Granny Smith, and even though we saw Applejack, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash's homes, we never saw those three again... It's like we're supposed to forget that they caused all of this.

Another thing... You'd think Discord would be less arrogant when he saw the ponies a second time, this time less gray. Did he think they were still hypnotized or something?

Eh, whatever, it was still a fun episode. Flutterbitch is actually really funny to watch at first... It's funny in an awkward way, since I'm so used to her being so nice. And Applejack... I guess she really IS a jerk instead of just being a liar...

And Rainbow Dash running off to "save" Cloudsdale never amounted to anything except just Rainbow Dash abandoning the others when they needed him.

The ending... Yeah, a Star Wars parody, how cute. I saw Derpy in the crowd, though surprisingly, she didn't have her signature "derpy eyes".
 
Episode 2 of season 2 is now on youtube. I got it from the same people as last time.

Probably Mid-to-Late October. I doubt we have to wait too long as they're probably aligning it with how they aired Season 1
 
I honestly didn't like it.

First of all, it was far too rushed. At its original pace, it should have easily been a three-parter; Discord was far too dangerous to go down that easily, and the others were brought back to normal far too easily. It started off fine, but after a while it seemed that they just wanted to wrap it up as quickly as possible so they could get back to slice-of-life episodes. Since only discord can challenge harmony, the final battle in particular went far too quickly, as did returning to Discord's palace. There should have at least been obstacles. Finally, she was mentioned 20 times in Part 1, and at the end was a celebration led by Celestia...WHERE THE HELL IS LUNA?!?!? They could make her a great character, and they use that boring Celestia by herself over and over again. It had its funny moments, mostly with the discorded ponies and Pinkie Pie near the end, but overall it's possibly my least favorite episode.
 
Yeah it was a bit disappointing but it was going to be hard to do all that fitting into 22 minutes properly anyway. And I just don't think there's need to complain about no Luna. We'll get to her soon.

I think the moments before the ending were the best parts but I think there's room for the Episodes after to blow this one out of the water.
