Reading all this stuff about school makes me glad I'm home-schooled, I don't have to deal with all those morons (and spending 8 hours at school everyday).

It really isn't that bad if you have some friends with you. and after maybe a couple of months you sort of grow an internal don't give a fuck system to any assholes.

OMG DERPY GOT SOME LINES!!!!!!!!!
Anyway:
This is definitely my new favorite episode. Pinkie was as hilarious as usual and there were a lot of wacky lines from all of the main six. Also, Derpy definitely stole the show. While I don't think that Applejack's reason lived up to scratch, I'll forgive them. The story writer was definitely paying attention to what the fans wanted because it was all in this episode. And the best part? We've finally found UM's episode - this would be a great episode to show newcomers. And Pinkie's ramblings actually make me feel bad for Rarity and AJ while I'm laughing my ass off (Cherry, cherry chugga?) Her reaction when she found out that Applejack broke her Pinkie Promise was priceless.
Amazing episode.

So Derpy now has an official name (Derpy Hooves) and has been given a voice. Neat!
And Pinkie was absolutely hilarious in this. Yeah, that was a great episode.

You have no idea how surprised I was to see Derpy actually talk. I thought that was seriously something that basically never was going to happen. I think that set the tone on how awesome this episode was. I have to see it again as I didn't really get everything. But this could possibly be my favorite Season 2 episode.

Just stopping by to say I'm jealous of all of you that get to see new episodes the moment they come out.

Also, cool to know that Derpy's official now.

By the way, info for Episode 18 has been released.

Episode Title: A Friend in Deed
Air Date: February 18, 2012
Summary: Pinkie Pie tries to turn Cranky Doodle Donkey, the only creature to refuse her friendship.

Sounds pretty interesting.

Just saw the new episode, first off:

OMG, Rainbow Dash called Derpy Derpy in the actual show!

HOLY CRAP! DERPY SPOKE!!!! ;D

I was literally cheering and shouting at this, I couldn't believe it!

Anyway, as to the episode itself... Well, I don't know. It's a good episode, but I'm not entirely sure I liked it...

It was good at first, really cute and all, but as soon as I heard the note "Won't return to Ponyville, will send money soon." I knew where this episode was going... Which made it all the more painful to see Applejack avoid her friends, because, come on, they're her friends, it doesn't freaking matter whether she won or not! Hell, I'd be more upset that she refused to talk to me BECAUSE she was too dang proud of herself. Wouldn't THAT be ironic, she avoided her friends because she thought she'd lose them if they knew the truth, only to lose them BECAUSE she didn't come clean to begin with.

What threw me for a loop, though, was when Cherry Jubilee said that she won a lot of ribbons, and that confused me... It's not until I actually saw the ribbons that I realized what she meant...

Also, what about the family? Yeah, the Town Hall may need fixing, but by not returning to Ponyville, not only are her friends upset, but her family, too! Look at how torn up Big Mac was! :(

In fact, I thought that would be the twist ending, namely that Applejack's family shows up and she comes clean when they ask her to come home. I mean, it doesn't matter how many blue ribbons or prize money you've won, family is what's most important!

And I think that's the problem, as I see it. The lesson was so obvious, that I was shocked that Applejack thought that winning blue ribbons and earning the money would be higher priorities. Then again, that IS her vice, namely her pride, and that's something that's always been a problem with her, so I guess it's nice to see that expolited for another episode...

I also like how she's still honest, but she manages to find loopholes, just like Fall Weather Friends. Namely, she didn't break her Pinkie Pie Promise AND she didn't break her honesty element...

...But still, I can't get over the lengths she went to just to avoid telling the truth, I mean GEEZ Applejack, it's like you'd rather DIE than have your friends think less then you, which is ridiculous to begin with since it's been obvious since day one that you're friends will love you no matter what! That's my problem with the episode, and that's what keeps me from liking it.
...The beginning was good, and so was when they set up the party and such. Everything else, I don't care for.

HOORAY FOR DERPY! :P

We should totally put Turb or Gamefreak's face on the donkey Does seem interesting. Also if the Smile, Smile, Smile song doesn't show up in that episode then I'll remove Twilight from my avatar for an entire month.

It's my favorite episode period.

Well, I watch in my room on my iPad. There's an Optimum app. Unfortunately Optimum's service is horrible.

Yay, a Pinkie episode! Yes, that does seem like it will be interesting.
More on the episode:
Yes, I did find it odd how many loopholes AJ went through. She's supposed to be honest and she wasn't. And she was totally unjustified for leaving Ponyville. But I feel as if the other qualities of the episode outweigh this.

Oh yeah, about about the Episode 18 plot synopsis:

So THIS is what Lauren Faust meant about the whole donkey thing... Also, this will have the smile song, I just know it! Looking forward to this!

I kind of hope Cranky Doodle Donkey turns out to be an Oscar-like character; someone who's usually grouchy, but is happiest when he's grouchy and everyone just sort of accepts and respects that.

I really enjoyed this one. I like how they kinda worked a reference to Ben Hur during the chase sequence. Derpy sounded pretty much how I expected her to sound.

My opinion on this episode:

HOLY CRAP DERPY SPOKE

Also, funny episode, especially with Pinkie Pie's moments and...Derpy. Despite all the other good parts, it will be most remembered for Derpy, though that's not a very bad thing.

Also, I am still pulling for a Gummy appearance in Episode 18.

To rank my favorite episodes thus far:

1. Party of One
2. Lesson Zero
3. Green Isn't Your Color
4. Feeling Pinkie Keen
5. Secret of My Excess
6. The Last Roundup
7. The Cutie Pox
8. Sweet And Elite
9. Bridle Gossip
10. Sonic Rainboom

Wow, this was a really good episode. It might even be my favorite.

Having Derpy say something was awesome, I never would have expected that. And I knew way before the end that AJ had ran away because she didn't win the prize. Also, good to see the Pinkie promise again, and Pinkies reaction to the promise was priceless. Overall, this was a great episode.

And on the subject of the new plot sypnosis:

Another Pinkie episode, huh? Considering the donkey is refered to as "Cranky Doodle" I'm guessing this will have Pinkie singing that "Smile" song.

Applejack-centered episode? Screw that. Derpy getting a name and voice? Doesn't matter. The real star of this episode was Pinkie Pie. With her good 'ol Pinkie Pie antics, almost everything she said or did ended up being funny.

The ramblings, the rage over the breaking of a Pinkie promise, the "catch me Rarity", all genius. And good guy Pinkie Pie wa the only one who cared about postman's birthday :3

Also, appearently Big Macintosh is more emotional than he seemed in earlier episodes. Maybe that will return in the valentine's day episode?

FYI, Derpy's voice in this episode was done by Tabitha St. Germain, as pointed out by this Twitter post:

So yeah, as if Ms. Germain wasn't already awesome for voicing Rarity, Princess Luna, and Granny Smith, now she voices the mascot of the brony community (as some call her).

Looks like I'm the only one here not shitting myself with glee over the blatant nerd pandering that is Derpy's speaking role.

No, I'm not either. I don't even like Derpy and couldn't care less about her talking or staying mute.

Well giving Derpy a voice and officially named was going to get mixed feelings from some people. I personally loved it. But I can see why you wouldn't necessarily care for it. There's actually a video of a chatroom for a livestream of the episode that showed the reaction to Derpy in the episode speaking and being called Derpy. And it's hilarious. I'd post it here but feeling a tad lazy right now.

Also on the 2nd watch. I can confirm that this is my favorite Season 2 episode. (I'm going to pick favorite episodes by Season. I can't just pick one. Cutie Mark Chronicles is my favorite from Season 1, this one is my favorite from Season 2 (For now))

Derpy speaking is cool beans also Sonicmario does jorge even know about this.

He kinda stayed up pretty late last night. I'll have him see the episode once he gets on Steam.
let me know what was his reaction via logs.

I can't miss it....lol.

Half the brony community loves Derpy in this episode.

The other half... is divided into more halves and sectors of different reasons why they didn't like it.

Some thought Derpy should be called Ditzy.

Some didn't like her voice.

Some didn't even like her at all.

Still others thought she should of just remained a background character.

It's all very complicated. I guess that's the thing witht he Internet and large communities, rarely, if ever, do they stand united on one thing.
