Miss Cheerilee and Big Macintosh fall in Love.

Oh shit.

Well, that's a pretty interesting plot. I'm definitely looking forward to this one.

Is this where I'd say I started watching the show? Well anyway, this is surely the best cartoon out there, better than anything on Cartoon Network, Nick, or Disney.

Yep, you can also tell your favorite episodes, characters and discussion on just about anything for the show. Feel free to post any questions regarding anything in this show.

EDIT: Also just noticed. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy are currently tied as the favorite in the Poll here.

Plot synopsis for episode 17, the Valentines Day episode:

Episode: Hearts and Hooves Day
Summary: The Cutie Mark Crusaders make Miss Cheerilee and Big Macintosh fall in Love.
Air Date: February 11, 2011

My thoughts:

So much for all those FluttershyxBig Macintosh shippers. Not that a little thing like canon and common sense would ever stop them.

Also, is anyone else reminded of that Powerpuff Girls episode where the girls try to get Professor Utonium and Ms. Keane to hook up?
SAY WHAT.

There are 2 main guesses I have for what happens. My first one is that Cheerilee and Big Mac aren't that much into eachother and stay that way despite the CMCs efforts. It'd be sort of poking fun at shipping. Perhaps one of or all 3 of the CMC see Big Mac with Cheerilee and assume that they're together. The CMC try everything like getting Mac and Cheer into romantic spots or making messages between the 2 like Love Letters (Which would be hilarious especially if it was to Cheerilee since I'm guessing she'd know their writing by now considering they're students in her class). But it just doesn't work and the CMC learn something on how you shouldn't assume something especially around something like Love. But then some sort of Ship tease happens in the end for laughs.

The other guess is that the CMC goes through all this effort to try to set up a date between them. But they fail to realize that they were actually dating anyway without the CMC's help.

Screw shipping, the important thing is that we're finally getting a Big Mac centered episode, woohoo!~

Even better, he's bound to get a speaking role in this episode (if not it'd be kinda weird).

We know that he CAN talk (and more than likely has some sort of down-to-earth wisdom), so I expect him to truly speak in this episode.

So here's my analysis of this show. It is not the best cartoon by a longshot, but before you accuse me of spamming or whatnot here me out.

This show is much, much, much better than what a lot of people may think it is. It's a show about semi-anthromorphic ponies interacting in life, and learning what it truely means to be a friend. The plotline is cheesy, but it is on the best end of the cheesy spectrum, meaning that while it can be predictable, the end result is a lesson in friendship, that is actually something useful for dealing with life.

But you know, the only better than the plot, is the characters. I don't care if the plot makes God cry with tears of happiness, if the characters are awful, the whole thing is. And the characters of this show are beyond awesome. While most cartoons (and TV shows and movies and etc.) have characters where the personalities are at least 80% the same, making me believe that they are actually one person split into two beings, many of these characters share maybe 15% of their personalities, making for a good conflict. Actually a plotline that issues a conflict among each other is much more interesting and exciting than a conflict that uses an outside source (example: a villain). And for a bonus, it's really funny for some reason I cannot explain.

So going at the top, the reason why it will never be the best cartoon in my opinion, is that it's competing with so many others. I don't know why, but every single thing I liked from 6-13 including that PBS show Dragon Tales and Pokemon, I must still love today. But if this show was around and I loved it from when I am 8-ish, this would be among be top 3 or 4 favorite cartoons.

So I'm going to say Congrats to The Hub for creating a show that actually is pretty awesome!

Nice post. Yeah the characterization of FiM truly makes it one of the better cartoons of nowadays. It's difficult to actually find a cartoon that still runs now with as strong of characters.

Also yeah I don't think you need to be worried about saying FiM is the best cartoon ever. As you can't really say what is the best of all-time as it'd be all opinion. As good as it still is, people aren't crazy about it because we all think it's the best cartoon ever made. (It's only had 1 1/2 seasons, no way I can rank it above my favorite cartoons like Courage the Cowardly Dog, Avatar: The Last Airbender, etc.) It's because it's a show that's surprisingly good when Hasbro could of easily hired a lackluster staff and provided the same crap they put in G3.

Also if I may ask DragonFreak, which of the Main 6 is your favorite? I also imagine you like some of the fantasy-type stuff in the show like the big Dragons, A Manticore, Ursas, etc. It'd also be probably too obvious of a answer based on your name if I asked if you liked Spike.

Yes, Spike is awesome, but if I had to choose a pony, I would choose Twilight. She's like my female double. Whether it's doing redundant things like making a checklist where making a checklist is on the checklist, or freaking out about little things, yeah, she's like me.

I know that there is at least a fair amount people here who like Twilight the most here based on the poll. But it's about time I actually have someone here who also has her as a favorite and posts. She's been my favorite ever since I started watching the show.

1. Applejack

2. Rainbow Dash

3. Twilight Sparkle

4. Pinkie Pie

5. Fluttershy

6. Rarity

Although I think she is the main-est character for some reason. Even if she isn't the main focus at that episode, she usually is the one who writes the Friendship report.

Totally with you on the last one. I have yet to see an in-depth episode with Fluttershy though.

Yeah Twilight is basically the main character. And is the reason Twilight appears in almost every episode (Season 2 is when Twilight is more subdued. Season 2 already has 2 episodes in which Twilight did not appear at all)

Still while being the Main Character has the risks of going overexposed. I just still like her slightly more then the other 5 (Though the other 5 are still awesome, I said before that my list would be like 1. Twilight and 2-6. I CAN'T DECIDE)

Fluttershy had a bunch of episodes in S1!

I have that problem when it comes to books. Number 1. The Dragonriders of Pern. Tie for second: Inheritance Cylce, A Song of Ice and Fire, Animal Farm, The Hunger Games, etc.

If anyone wants to get hyped for the episode tomorrow. Here's a short clip. Obvious spoiler warning though.

Hey guys, I have a pony related announcement:

I admitted that I was a brony in school. (Although it was only in my 5 student writing class). Only one person in the class giggled, which was my friend Molly, although, I don't care what they think. What made me admit was when I was assigned a small worksheet that was like "_______ is the best television show. Reasons:

a._______________
b._______________
c._______________" (and this was related to a persuasive writing assignment)

I wanted to be honest about what show I'd say is my favorite, and my writing teacher Mrs. Hartney might assign letting you pick your own subject sometime in the near future. I just had to pick My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic because this would be the easiest kind of persuasive writing to make, as I know a lot about the show. What I wrote is as follows:

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is the best television show. Reasons:

a.It has a compelling cast of characters with character development.
b.It has topnotch animation.
c.It teaches you valuable life lessons.

When it nears my birthday in school, I'm thinking about bringing in an episode for my class to watch and see how they liked it. Any suggestions as to which episodes? So far, I was thinking Baby Cakes because my class is more into comedy really and they'd be more appealed to it because of that. I think that was the funniest episode imo.

I'm not able to see the new episode. I have a Band Compition all day tomorrow. And it's not on again till a week from now. I could record it....

Do you not have access to Youtube? You can usually find the episodes there.

@Ultramario: Eh, I wouldn't choose Baby Cakes as an episode to show to people new to it. I'll have to think about it, but I'll give a few recommendations.
