Watchin' while typin' again... (INCOMING WALL OF TEXT ALERT!)

You know, I mostly recall either Granny Smith being isolated or interacting with Apple Bloom, I haven't seen her talking with Applejack or Big Mac that much... That's why I like seeing them talk here.

There are a LOT of ponies in the Apple Family, I assume... The farm will likely be PACKED by the end of the episode. Eeyep... I expect to see lots and LOTS of ponies in this episode. Lots...

"The family's grown tenfold since the last reunion!" You mean since the beginning of the series? Yeah, I'm bringing that up, and I guess I'd like to argue headcanons on how that's supposed to work, but still, reaffirms my assumption that there will be a LOT of ponies in this episode... A LOT!

Also, Cindy Morrow writes! Don't let me down, Cindy!

I like seeing Big Mac sit down.

Also, seeing Granny Smith straighten out her face reminds me of that one Simpsons joke, wherein Grandpa looks like Homer with his skin's less flabby. Also, this statement sort of implies that the last family reunion was when Granny Smith was a lot younger, AGAIN, contradicting the VERY FIRST EPISODE!

Applejack and Apple Bloom sitting on that couch is really adorable. :ajsmiles

I like how young Granny Smith sounds... again, Tabitha St. Germain is just that good at voice acting. She's also quite the cutie. :P

I get the feeling that Applejack is going to want to finish that quilt... All while missing the point of the quilt...

Oh my gosh... Little Applejack sounds so freaking cute! Who did her voice? Did Ashleigh Ball did that voice, too? I also like how, even as a little foal, she was a big eater, so adorable...

"Apple Rose", huh? Well, I wonder if she's still alive... Also, "seven-legged race" sounds a lot more complicated than a "three-legged race", since it's just the front leg that's tied up, the back one's still free... I bet any two horses that had that happen to them will get all messed up!

You know, AJ, you could write that stuff down instead of, you know, just repeating it to yourself. You'll find it'll be easier to remember.

How come in the first one, there was only a picture of Granny Smith and her parents? Could have SWORN there were at least two other ponies with them...

Also, the last family reunion only had, like 10 ponies, including the main 4 in Ponyville. What the Hell, we SAW how big Applejack's family was in the first episode! What, are we just supposed to pretend that didn't exist? You know, this series was REALLY good about keeping continuity up until this episode. I DID like seeing Braeburn in that picture.

Two shooting stars... Is that a sign? Also, I can totally see where this is going. I've seen enough Christmas specials about family get-togethers to know how this is going to play out: Applejack tries her best to make this the perfect family reunion, which OF COURSE, doesn't happen the way she plans it, but realizes that the best thing about these kinds of things isn't the planning involved, but the people (or in this case ponies) that we meet and greet and see.

I like how AJ trots to the tick-tocks of the clock.

I like that skip AJ does, too! XD

"Nights are so quite, you can seldom hear a peep until the rooster crows!" Sorry, I just thought of that line when I saw the rooster.

It's cute to see Apple Bloom join in the apple-bucking. I didn't thinks he'd be as good as AJ or Big Mac. Also, Rarity cameo!

lol, Pinkie likes honey... Oh geez, there was a bee in her mouth? Good thing it didn't sting her! And the return of that golden glitter, awesome!

Rainbow Dash does that adorable "bouncing on a rain cloud" thing she did in the first episode... the same episode which had an Apple Family reunion in there, too! Although this scene makes me wonder, is Rainbow Dash allowed to use a rain cloud to give rain water to her friends? What if there's a scheduled downpour and they didn't have enough rain water because she gave some away? Eh, probably not that big a deal.

lol, AJ using Spike as a lighter! Especially funny, given the next new episode... Also, how does Spike control when something is just burned or when something is sent to Celestia?

Here comes the Apple Family! Just look at them all! :D

Wow... So many different Apples... That's an interesting flying machine they have-OH THERE'S BRAEBURN!!!!

Wait... Hayseed Turnip Truck? HE'S a member of the Apple Family? Well, they DO have an "Aunt and Uncle Orange", so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. Still, who'd of thought?

There's that megaphone microphone again... So, wait, do they have the technology to make microphones? I don't even know at this point...

They sure made a big deal about Babs... But at least now they're friends, and they're so cute together! Still, I'm starting to see the complaint about Babs's voice, now that she's most definitely no longer a bully, her accent seems a little... weird... I dunno how to describe it, it just feels a LITTLE out of place.

Anyone else reminded of the episode of Spongebob Squarepants, where he INSISTED that everybody do things EXACTLY according to his schedule? Of course, Applejack does seem THAT uptight, yet, I mean she's not FORCING certain ponies to ONLY talk to certain other ponies. But I'm getting that kind of vibe right now...

Oh... Oh wow... I guess Applejack took that "unforgetabble" aspect of the family reunion a BIT too far... Like, most people don't forget these family reunions because of the things you can't plan... But, I guess no one is going to forget when they raced in a race that's miles long, and you're forced to jump through several hoops along the way... Not literally, but still, it's like damn, just how challenging of an obstacle course is this supposed to be? This is nuts, even for adults! And you're expecting the KIDS to do all this?! There better be a freaking award at the end of all this...

I like how Apple Bloom and Babs Seed got off to a good start, but got tired before they even got to the halfway point... I think AJ didn't think this through very well. These are some memories I'd rather not remember; getting tired while beating a near impossible obstacle course...

EW, just how old is Auntie Applesauce?! It's almost like I can see her bony chest. Seeing her teeth is almost as creepy as seeing Granny Smith's teeth in Family Appreciation Day, as well.

Applejack got RID of the rocking chairs? And just like I thought, she COMPLETELY missed the point of the quilt... Now she's practically going to force them into slaving away on a freaking quilt.

...HIJINKS, LOL! Especially with the sewing machines AJ brought... Where exactly did she get those?

Seeing those little fillies (and colts?) running around those trees is adorable! ADORABLE! Also, the Wilhelm scream returns! What's funny is that it sounds nothing like Apple Bloom's voice.

Oh Big Mac, you and your fritters! I like seeing these other Apple Family members, they all feel so unique, and yet similar... They're voices are nice to hear, too! :P Braeburn in the background!

Way to be a buzz-kill AJ, interrupting casual family chit-chat (you know, one of the main points of a family reunion is to get re-acquainted with your family?) to have them focus on making fritters faster. Again, so wrapped up in her own perfect reunion plan, she's not seeing how it's effecting her actual family.

OH CRAP, there are more blank flanks where Babs came from! I TOTALLY can't wait to see them, if we ever do! Once again, Apple Bloom and Babs Seed are so cute! They're also surprisingly good at plate-spinning while saying tongue-twisters.

It's incredibly how oblivious Applejack is to how sore and tired everyone is, and is only focused on making things "memorable"... In a completely robotic, alien way of what "memorable" means... Like, I dunno, what, in her eyes, is memorable? What is she expecting?

Who are those stallions? Are they Apples, too? Also, once again, Applejack, COMPLETELY obvious to the exasperation of her family, decides to NOT take a break, but make things WILD AND CRAZY! Oh Applejack, who's a silly pony? :imokay

Also, I like how AJ didn't even bother to go with them, so she's even MORE oblivious to what they're going through!

Whoa... Okay, I get why AJ didn't go along for the ride. This is actually pretty cool. So, I guess in Equestria, fruit bats are as multi-colored as the ponies. Nicely done. lol, and even the fruit bads look like actual fruits (the red ones are strawberries)! But, UH-OH, one of the relatives has an apple in her hat! I smell HILARITY!!!

Oh... There goes the barn. You know, I think what makes this interesting is that people aren't fed up with AJ's plans as it was something happened that wasn't part of AJ's plans, and it ends up ruining everything. That's interesting, because it's usually the former in these kinds of scenarios... Not that it doesn't make this any less tragic for all the ponies involved. I actually feel really bad for poor AJ, especially when she starts crying...

I seriously love seeing Braeburn pop up again here and there, even though he doesn't say anything... Kind of wish he did, though.

Alright, this must be the song! And look, there's the pony everyone thought was Octavia in the Nightmare Night episode even though it was obvious that it wasn't her! Is SHE an Apple Family relative? Are the members of the band Apple Family, too? WAIT, I spotted Mr. Greenhooves in the crowd! HE'S an Apple Family member as well? I'm just finding out all sorts of things from this episode!

HOORAY for AJ's own song! It's... alright, I guess. Damn, I didn't mean for that to come off as underwhelming. I guess I'm not much of a fan of country music. Actually, it gets better the more I listen to it. The visuals of all the Apple Family members is awesome, too! Apple Bloom even joins in, it's awesome! Oh, now I say it's awesome, I'm so inconsistent!

Wait... Babs Seed's eyes were orange for a second... What's up with that?

I'm reminded of when Pinkie painted the barn... So much for that!

That photo... Somehow, I expected there to be more members... Maybe they all just couldn't get into that one photo. Not to mention, SOMEONE THEM HAD THEIR EYES CLOSED! For shame!

Granny Smith winked at the camera... Minor pet peeve, wish they didn't do it.

OH SHIT, finally we get a letter to Celestia! What was that, 3 episodes with no letter? For a second, I thought they completely ditched the concept. Well, anyway, I like looking at those photos... Especially the one with Applejack and Braeburn together! There's a lot of ones with Apple Bloom and Babs Seed, too. Wait, they LIVE in the barn? So they basically had their house destroyed AND rebuilt, all in the same day?! Dang...

Okay, even though I complained about what AJ did throughout this episode, I realize that's the point, and the main source of this episode's humor. Not to mention, I don't hate it, nor do I hate Applejack for it either. I just feel like, you know, this sort of thing's been done before, even moreso then the other MLP episodes that tackle familiar subject-matter. That being said, I still found this episode to be enjoyable. I really do like seeing all the different members of the Apple Family... I just hope they realize that now they can't introduce any new members, since Apple Bloom DID say that EVERYPONY in the Apple Family was coming...

Then again, they DID say the family reunion happens once every 100 moons, even though their last family reunion was very recent, recent enough that this one had to happen after they met Twilight, since she was present when Babs Seed was introduced, and Spike was in this episode...

So screw it, they really messed up on continuity here, which annoys me slightly, but not too much... kind of.

It's... alright, I guess. dang, I didn't mean for that to come off as underwhelming.

OH *bleep*, finally we get a letter to Celestia!

So screw it, they really messed up on continuity here, which annoys me slightly, but not too much... kind of.
the moon much like the seasons is powered by magic
Wow, thanks man, that didn't answer my question at all! :D

How do we know things like the moon and the sun are really powered by magic?

What if the sun just moves naturally and Celestia lies, "lol i did that"

Not exactly liking the title, and it sounds like another episode of Flutter's shyness issues, as if we haven't already had enough of those.

Isn't that like every fluttershy episode

We can't exactly judge an episode by it's title. :V

is there a rarity episode yet

Nope not yet. I am starting to get worried that they gave her the short end of the stick in Season 3. Other then Sleepless in Ponyville and Crystal Empire. Rarity hasn't done a whole lot this season. (We habe 8 episodes aired out of 13. We know that 2 of the 5 left are a Spike/AJ episode, and a Fluttershy one. That leaves 3 more. If this Season is to be effectively balanced in regards to the Main 6, then that one episode will have to be a Rarity one.) Because otherwise 12 and 13 is probably a two-parter and very much Twilight related. There's still the possibility that one ep though isn't going to be Rarity related. It'd be a shame though. There hasn't been a Rarity episode since the first half of Season 2.

the creators think that everyone cares about fluttershy, pinkie pie, twilight sparkle, apple jack and rainbowdash and no one cares about rarity

Episodes Hurricane Fluttershy, Last Round-Up, and Applebuck Season would like to have a word with you
Don't mean to interject here, but I felt that The Last Round-Up was terrible, IMHO, and I'm kind of meh about Applebuck Season. But yeah, Hurricane Fluttershy was awesome.

Well different strokes for different blokes but I find Last Round-Up (And not just for Derpy) and Applebuck Season as among the most entertaining episodes of the series. Mainly because for me they were hilarious almost all the way through. And I thought they were also pretty good in terms of the ending where AJ learns her lesson.

Applebuck Season I can kind of excuse, since it was her first episode and all that, but The Last Round-Up, I can NOT believe for one second that she'd go so far just to cover up the fact that she lost. Like, she not only abandons her family, but nearly GETS HERSELF KILLED, along with some innocents (the stallions driving the wagon), all just because she didn't win any blue ribbons... Some people try to turn it around, saying she was more more nervous about winning the prize money, in which case... fine, I can understand that, but she openly admits to sending the money eventually, not to mention, both she and the episode as a whole seem to make a bigger deal out of not winning blue ribbons as opposed to the money deal.

As for the humor... I'm sorry, I just don't find Amy Keating Rogers' brand of humor funny, ESPECIALLY in regards of Pinkie Pie. When are writers going to learn that obnoxious/annoying characters ARE NOT FUNNY, they're OBNOXIOUS/ANNOYING, not just to the characters in the TV show/movie/whatever, but to the audience as well!

Just to interject my expert opinion :P but from what I recall Hurricane Fluttershy was annoying if it's the one I think it is. Last Round up was the one where she lied with out lying but other then that I don't remember it and I have no idea which one Applebuck season is

there I fixed it for you

I'm beginning to really like Granny Smith as a character. For the amount of screen time she's gotten in the show (less than any Apple family member except maybe Big Mac), she's surprisingly fleshed-out. I expected a fairly boring episode, but it was actually quite effective in its simplicity.

I'd rank the episodes so far as:

1. Sleepless in Ponyville
2. Too Many Pinkie Pies (sorry, bias :P)
3. Magic Duel
4. Apple Family Reunion
5. Wonderbolt Academy
6. One Bad Apple
7. The Crystal Empire

5-7 were all fairly mediocre IMO, but no episode has been bad so far like a couple last season.

Hurricane Fluttershy is the one where all the pegasi are training to get water up to Cloudsdale, and Fluttershy has to overcome her self-confidence issues in order to participate.

You're pretty much right about The Last Round-Up.

Applebuck Season is the season 1 episode wherein Applejack tries to harvest all the apples by herself, gets tired, and ends up messing up things she's supposed to be helping out with.

Applebuck season was cliched and boring
Also and this is completely unrelated but the last truly great episode imo was the one with all the pets
