What if (and I'm just snowballing here.) Mario Kart 3DS somehow has...a story mode? It'd be interesting to see how Nintendo can take a racing franchise that's been a free-for-all fun family game and take it into a just as fun story mode? Also, I hope there's a course that has to do with gliders only, like a course where there's a huge ramp, you jump off, and then gliders only for the rest of the course...until you hit the finish line again, or maybe that could be a "Long Glide" minigame type mode.

No, story mode is a good idea, but when I think of it, I think of Wizpig terrorizing Mushroom Kingdom.
The glider idea is good, but I'm thinking about while you are gliding, there are up air drafts so you glide for almost all of the race.

If there was a story mode, I have a fun, yet cheesy idea: King K. Rool has returned (King K. Rool PLAYABLE ANYONE?), and is ready for revenge. He's sent out 7 racing masters for you to face, but you must get first place against his team of Kremlings before you can test a master's might. When you defeat a master, you unlock a new character for not just the game, but your "team" which is choosing 4 characters to rotate around with, out of the ones that you start with and unlock. It's probably bad, but it's an idea to work around with.

Glider blocking view? If that's the case at all I'm pretty sure by the 10th time you've raced on a level with that you would have memorized how it goes. Similar to the Blooper item, it may be annoying the first times you play a course you haven't done before but by the time in at least MKWii you can still go around seeing the patches you can see as if you weren't squirted. On MKDS it's a bit more annoying but you still have the bottom screen to help you with that in particular

Story Mode wouldn't work well and Nintendo don't own King K. Rool anymore. Just stick to the 50cc, 100cc, 150cc & Mirror Modes.
