Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon

Re: Luigi's Mansion 2

I wonder, Luigi is rumored to be a professionsl ghost hunter in the game. Why would he do that? Even though he's good at it, this doesn't seem like the kind of thing Luigi would do by choice.

Also, is Luigi going to hump furniture like he did in the prequel?

As for Mario, he might be completly absent or something. I doubt he'd let himself get captured again.

Re: Luigi's Mansion 2

Didn't Luigi say Mario's name in the trailer?

He let's Peach get captured all the time. He's not that defensive.

Maybe saving Mario in the first game gave him new found confidence.

Re: Luigi's Mansion 2

Or his gullible self made him go in another adventure.

Re: Luigi's Mansion 2

And yeah, Luigi said Mario's name in the trailer, so either the plot's the same as the first, or you rescue multiple people. Details are kinda hazy at the time.

Re: Luigi's Mansion 2

I don't want Peach to get captured. She already has been captured 5 million times already, give her a break.

Re: Luigi's Mansion 2

I want Daisy to be kidnapped not Mario this time round. Daisy had never been kidnapped in a Luigi game before.

ToxBox, what's the point of having a haunted mansion, with no ghosts?

Re: Luigi's Mansion 2

First off, regarding as to whether or not Mario's in the game, just because Luigi was calling for Mario doesn't necessarily mean Mario will actually be in the game (even though he was in the first one). Toad mentioned Peach in the prequel, but did she appear? No. Yoshi's name was mentioned in Galaxy, and there was a planet shaped like his head, but did Yoshi himself actually appear? No. So, let's not jump to conclusions.

@NSM/Whittle
Yes, a haunted mansion does need ghosts, but that doesn't mean there can't be other spooky, non-ghost enemies in the game (zombies, vampires, etc.)

Well, then maybe Daisy would get captured for once...?

But Luigi did call out for Mario in the first one. There has to be a reason he is calling for Mario, and that reason perhaps is that Mario is gone again

Yeah, it really doesn't make any sense for Luigi to be calling for Mario if he wasn't looking for him. Toad was just mentioning Peach. I don't remember the exact quote, but I don't think it suggested that Peach was missing too.

Re: Luigi's Mansion 2

It's likely Mario is in this game as it would make sense for Luigi to be searching for him. Otherwise, we would have Mario as the hero searching through the mansion. Hopefully, this is the case.

Re: Luigi's Mansion 2

Maybe Mario's missing, and Luigi's searching for him and when the game ends, Mario shows up. Kind of like in one of the Wario Land games where at the end, Mario randomly shows up and takes away the golden Peach statue.

@Leonyx, Peach wasn't missing, she sent Toad(s) to the mansion to look for Mario after hearing he disappeared.

Ah. Well, that's not the same thing as what Luigi was calling for.

Doesn't that mean he's still appearing in the game though? It might not be a big role, but it still counts.

Yeah, that was just my theory for why Luigi's calling for Mario.

Re: Luigi's Mansion 2

So there's basically another Mario game with a damsel in distress in it? I am disappoint Nintendo. Can't they do something else that does not involve someone important getting kidnapped?

It's a Mario game. You don't really play them for the story.

The Mario RPG games have good storys as an RPG needs the story to be a main area of the game. Luigi's Mansion had quite a good story for a non-rpg Mario Game.

You're right, but I was really talking about mainstream Mario games. Though, technically Luigi's Mansion is a spin-off, you can consider it a mainstream game. I didn't think the story of the first game was that great (basically, Luigi finds out Mario's been kidnapped and has to find him), but the extras were nice. I hope more of them are in the next game.

Re: Luigi's Mansion 2

Nintendo can change. Everyone is getting sick of the cliche'd storyline of Mario games
