Suggestions for Improvement

Pretty sure we have more than six of those running. Even if we don't, just because there's a small amount now doesn't mean there always will be. Haven't we had like fifteen or so running at once before? Don't think the activity is that much of a problem, personally.

As for the name, give me some time to think about that.

Maybe something like Common Games?

Not very catchy, but fitting, I think.

This has been suggested before, but how about a sub board for Hurt and Heal/Vote to Win/KO a Character/etc games? Those threads are pretty popular and take up like half of the Forum Games board, and I feel there's enough to warrant their own board at this point.

In my opinion, it seems kind of unnecessary to split the board, and from a quick skim of the Forum Games board (accurate analysis!), there's only about six hurt and heal/vote to win/KO a Character games running at the moment, so I don't think there'd be enough activity in it to justify it's own board.
There's only four mafias running right now.

True, but the guild schedule sets it up so that one is always ready to go when a game ends.

With V2Ws/H&H/KoC (I'll just refer to them as elimination games for the sake of... not having to type that again, plus if Porps goes through with it, that might be a plausible name for the board if you're really stumped) this isn't the case, so you may be dealt with inactive periods.

Plus, "Elimination Games" have a higher cancellation rate, and often times in the case of Hurt and Heals they go unfinished.

That's all the consistently updated ones I saw, unless you'd care to prove otherwise.

I believe the booming activity you're referring to is when the concept was originally introduced, and because it was newer, you wouldn't have trouble thinking up themes for the "EGs" (as I go down this post my laziness is slowly increasing), as opposed to now, the more themes used, the harder it is to find something that hasn't been used, resulting in a slow decrease of activity.

As Smasher and I suggested before, we could move every Hurt and Heal, KO a Character, Vote to Win, Swap a Character, Save a Character, and Race to the Finish to that board, but if we did, we'd be moving a total of 327 topics, so I'd say we should just take the active, unfinished ones, (listed in the Winners thread) move them there, and then lock them when they're done. There's 5 Hurt and Heals and 7 Vote to Wins in progress right now.

Is this including or excluding things like VocalBeat's boss music game/other miscellaneous games you bump in attempt to finish?

I included all games that were unfinished in my tally. And for the record, VocalBeat's boss music game is canceled.

Elimination Games might actually be a good name for the board, heh.

you may be dealt with inactive periods.

Haven't there been plenty of inactive mafia games? I know at some point last year that the activity rate in mafia as a whole had taken a drop, too. They've improved in activity since then. The ECs have gone into inactive points too, and they've also started being active again. It's likely that they will go inactive again I admit, but it's just as likely that they'll become active again at some point after.

That's true, though a lot do still eventually finish, as MCS proved a couple posts up.

I checked and not counting the inactive ones that MCS tends to bump it turns out you're right. You can disregard that part of the post.

I believe we've had "booming activity" after the concept was introduced too.

I admit that's true. Though there are still a good amount of themes that haven't been used, and I doubt it's hard to come up with a Hurt & Heal Winners or Forum's Choice-like combination of multiple things if you need to.

Just a minor thing, but in the "About this Board" topic in the SSB board. It says
If you want to talk about the online experience of these games, go to the "Online Play" board a few blocks south from here.

I think this should be updated as "Online Play" is now called "Game with friends".

Maybe making an exception for the Double-Posting rule in the Mafia board? Game-wise, editing can screw a lot of things up.

I also highly agree with Nabber. There are some other changes to the Mafia board I'd like to propose, but that'll have to wait for some time.
Feel free to mention them/PM the Guild.

That sounds good to me as well.

Also, is there a way the mods could implement a button to press on a thread to opt out of it appearing in the list when you click "Show new replies to your posts"? That's usually where I find threads to post in, and some threads on there I don't want to show up on the list anymore as I never post in them as I used to, so if there was a way to make a button like that, it would really help with getting rid of the clutter that users don't want there.

Also, I guess Porple doesn't want to make the Elimination Games board...?

Actually, it can still snow around this time, at least, in the countries with mountains.
Speaking of snow, I wish the people at the Southern Hemisphere good luck with it, starting in 1 or 2 months.

It can snow any time during the year, but keeping the logo that long would be stupid.
Tucayo's got a point.

Any input on this, mods?

^ I would like to show my support for this idea.

I've been wanting something like this from day 1. It's silly when I comment on something, then have no reason to comment on it ever again, and for it to keep popping up whenever someone else posts there.

The snow needs to go now.

It went before until I made a topic that a grew to regret making.
