See Marowak, that's what happens when you betray me and don't listen to the Seer. You just end up looking silly.

Not necessarily. The "him" in the statement is ambiguous (John even expresses confusion about it), and it could also just be intended to get a specific reaction out of Past-Terezi without having to be absolute. Kind of like a "I'm going to tell you something to get you to do something that will benefit you, but I don't actually mean what I say" situation.

The human (and by extension Troll) mind can be very non-linear and complicated.

Especially when a Seer of Mind is involved.

Hell, she could've easily anticipated that John was going to embellish her messages with his own chatterings and factored that into her instructions, knowing that she could leave things vague and spooky while he did the opposite.

hussie is 5ever alone

though the proximity of all this vriska and meenah stuff is really scaring me with eoa6a6i4 coming up

That ship sank three timelines ago.

Yeah, I feel like showing Vriska being SO happy is either a prelude to something bad happening to her and/or Meenah, or it's a deliberate red herring to make us think something heart-wrenching's gonna happen, either due to LE or retcon shenanigans (i.e. folks might think Terezi's not gonna kill Vriska and make it so she never finds Meenah since she knows Gamzee helped with the murderfest now, but that'd have hella consequences to the timeline so I think that's very unlikely), or it's both (i.e. a fakeout for the retcons, but then LE comes in and wham).

god damn vriska cannot pull that haircut off

HE'S ALREADY THERE

...

but in all seriousness i seriously thought that the looming shadow was him watching the makeout session

it makes sense with him being a stunted man-child

Remember when you said you can't wrap your head around all the non-linear, convoluted plot shit that's happening?

This act act act nonsense is something that I can't keep track of.

Yeah, I agree.

It kind of reminds me of Tavros.

I think what makes it look silly is the braids. They looked kind of bad already on their own, what with them going halfway up her hair and then just stopping. It looked unfinished.

In combination with the mohawk it looks like two barbers with different ideas were working on her head simultaneously, both working on opposite ends until they met somewhere in the middle, then looked at each other awkwardly, and slowly backed away.

i can't keep track of it either. the only reason i knew which act or intermission or whatever we're in is because it says so on the page update

lol, me too. Although I just remembered that it's not even a fauxhawk, because only one side's shaved off. So it's like, even that's half-finished. I actually kinda feel like Vriska's whole new look is SO relentlessly haphazard on purpose - showing that she's done giving a crap about anything besides being happy and carefree. Or she's actually trying too hard to be like Meenah and is going overboard. Guess we'll have to wait and sea.

Either way, in general, I'm not a fan of mix-n-match hairstyles. Like when they added the ponytail to Lemmy's mohawk - it's just, why? It generally looks more sloppy than interesting once you go beyond simply having different chunks being different lengths, or having the odd braid or whatever in with loose hair. Once you got real structure going on, stick to one, imho.

I knew the happiness was too good to be true. But I underestimated the extent of the retcon shenanigans...

But whatever's resulted from all the meddling can't be the proper alpha timeline anymore, at the very least because without sober Gamzee setting the Cherubs up with Trollian and the B2 kids, Calliope predominates and everything's a moot point then; Vriska being dead's also necessary for the furthest ring destruction quest and the finding of the ring of life, so this definitely seems increasingly like a doomed timeline. Only it's not doomed because of John's powers, but maybe that doesn't mean that it's the way things happen now, just that the people that result from it aren't doomed - so if they jump ship to the intact GAME OVER timeline somehow (with the wallet captchloguing the meteor, perhaps?), they get to just keep going, having replaced their dead original selves, without having to worry about Paradox Space killing them down the line. Or something.

But of course, John doesn't have the wallet and Caliborn's probably gonna spring his trap on everyone in Callie's death spiral come A6A6A5, so whatever's happening is probably gonna go sideways in a week (give or take a pause). I just hope all the pieces slot together nicely in the end.

hey they sidestepped the question of how scratch would react to john's powers in action

Nope, you made me uphold the terms of the bet despite having no claim to victory. That means now you owe me two favors: One for losing the bet, and one for cheating by claiming a victory that was not yours.

I still uphold the suggestion that John's powers transcend Scratch's omniscience, so the latter is not aware of the former.

I thought that too, but I also thought John showing up during the [o]termission or whatever you want to call it would get Scratch's attention, but instead they just switched to normal storytelling mode without expla...

...hold on terezi didn't scratch disc 2 anymore

but then up until that point it's still...

argh I don't even know anymore

But he didn't show up during the o thing. As you said, that is dropped for normal narrative as soon as John shows up. My claim is actually a possible explanation for why that happens. If Scratch just isn't able to know about John, the change in narrative makes sense.
