man thats awesome

I was thinking about trying Kamigami no Asobi since it's being made by Brains Base buuuuut it just looks like a man service show. 1 girl and 5 guys. I will avoid it like the plague.

Well, they got 2/3 right this time around.

Just finished Kamisama Hajimemashita (Kamisama Kiss). Pretty fun anime - I hope they make more of it (the manga it follows is much longer, and an important character from story arcs the show didn't touch upon was used in a teaser in the last OVA, so maybe...).

I'm thinking of watching the Madoka movies next (I watched the series last summer).

I watched the first episode of Black Bullet and the second episode of 悪魔のリドル. The former seems interesting, what with a virus infecting all of humanity, mutating some while granting special abilities to others, while the latter helped explain some of what was going on.

I watched the first episode of Black Bullet and didn't enjoy it. They set up a dark world and threw in comedy that fell flat. I don't know why teenagers are doing an adult's job or why the adult's are completely useless but it really just bugged me watching this. The world they are in and the comedy don't mesh well. You were just staring down death by giant spider, got lucky that you're strongest weapon (that you ditched by throwing off a bike) happened to be there and you're not scared at all, rather; you're more worried about the food sale going on down the street. I had a bad feeling when it said "If you don't want to die, survive" because that's on par with "people die when they are killed". Of course you survive if you don't want to die, that's what surviving is - not dying. Whatever, it just really bothered me for some reason.

Akuma no Riddle is getting interesting. Mahouka is moving at a snail's pace which is bad thing since the real badass stuff comes in Book 4 and above (they're still on book 1). Nanana's Buried Treasure was pretty great; Nanana was playing Terraria and Tekken, that was neat. Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou is still really beautiful and the comedy is hitting all the right points for me.

Mekakucity Actors was fantastic though. I was worried it wouldn't be very good for an anime adaption but SHAFT made it work. I hope they do stick to the story used for the Light Novels/Manga instead of going an original route. Definitely seems like they have the style of the series in their grasp. Sort of a messy style but I like it.

Beginning Girls Und Panzer. I watched the first ep a while back and thought "I oughta get back to this one sometime", so thats what I'm doing. I've heard good things about it, and its only a twelver, so whats the worst that could happen?

Personally, I'd say Hyouka is the most visually beautiful anime I've watched. There's no badass action or anything of the sort, it's just really fucking pretty and the animation is smoooooth. I don't remember any points where I could tell they were slacking off to save their budget. There might not have been any to be completely honest. The story is decent, nothing over-the-top.

I just watched the first episode of the new Soul Eater Not anime that I have been waiting for a long time. I have read the first few manga, and I like how different it is fromt the parents series and the new perspective. The anime so far is pretty good, even if they did add an introduction that was never in the manga.

I read something interesting about Soul Eater Not. The original Soul Eater was the events of the story as seen through the characters (it sort of had an edgy and cool look about it) and Soul Eater Not is through the eyes of the girls (Everything seems less menacing, Maka's eyes aren't hollow-looking, etc.)

I haven't watched either of them, but it was something I read on reddit that I thought explained the differences in style when they're both from the same universe (and being made by the same studio I believe).

Yeah the original Soul Eater series is all pretty supernatural "Must defeaet the bad guys" feel while Soul Eater Not! is more of a school/slice of life story than anything, well at least at first. I am not sure about later in the series.

I started watching this too and so far it's very....interesting. Definitely a contrast from the original Soul Eater. It keep me interested enough to continue watching, and besides, I need something new to watch since Kill la kill ended.

Oh cool! I am willing to bet there are some people who love Soul Eater may not like Soul Eater Not! by design.

Continuing to watch 悪魔のリドル and Black Bullet. I think the latter isn't going to hold my attention for much longer.

1st Episode: I despised it, you thought it was interesting.
2nd Episode: I liked it, you think it isn't going to interest you.

What happened here.

I've picked out nine shows that I'll follow, the rest are going on-hold indefinitely.

~Akuma no Riddle
~Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou
~Captain Earth
~Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka?
~Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei
~Mekakucity Actors
~Nisekoi
~No Game No Life
~Ryuugajou Nanana no Maizoukin.

Well, I liked the scene in the meeting room with that Kagetane guy (the one with the mask). I'll give it one more episode.

I kind of liked the 'which side am I on if I don't agree with either side' thing they showed a little. MC doesn't like the way things are handled with the Cursed Children on the good side but hates the methods of the bad side. Enju leaving was an interesting turn to take, for only the second episode. I'm not following it anymore but I'll maybe look around when it's finished to see if it developed into something good.

It still has flaws, like the characters not having any sense of what danger they're actually in. The Gastrea don't even seem like a threat, considering they've pretty much annihilated mankind down to one city.

Just like the Titans did in 進撃の巨人...hmm.

Anyway, going by the last episode of 悪魔のリドル, it seems as though we'll learn about each assassin's motivations when they make their attempts (except Tokaku's, of course).

Yeah, pretty much the same concept except the Titans were actually a problem and actually dangerous. They had more presence and were a huge part of the story.

Gastrea are just like a pest rather than a danger. Not a threat at all, even to the characters they don't even seem to be a problem (e.g, being more worried about a food sale than the giant bug that is about to rip you in half).

Black Bullet just gives off mixed signals with what it's aiming to be.

yeah, i especially like the visuals used when houtarou has those little thinking moments.

the story's kiiind of interesting, but idunno, visuals aside i'm not really hooked yet.

also gotta watch that p3 movie

I think the story shines the most at the Movie Club story arc and the last few episodes that aren't really part of an arc. I guess if anything they were like a Chitanda story arc.

I've nearly finished Witch Craft Works. The last few episodes haven't been as strong as the others, but that's because they're putting serious stuff in a show that has its best moments when it's being silly.

EDIT: No Game No Life is really good. Bummer that it's only getting 12 episodes.
