Don't worry. You're gonna love it.

Now, about that Korra episode last night.

ofcX8O9.jpg

Well damn. Didn't expect to see that.

Holy shit, I have to admit. I was the closest I've ever been to fanboying when...

Iroh showed up... I never expected that. Even more awesome to see Wan Shi Tong again. Though we already knew what awaited him when he stayed in the Library, damn, it's kinda hard to see Professor Zei's corpse like that.

But damn this was one heck of an episode, the return of fan favorites from the original show. Some interesting Spirit stuff where Korra is made a child for much of the episode. And holy crap Unalaq just went into Complete Monster territory at the end here. He threatened to destroy the soul of Jinora, and almost did it to Korra if it weren't for the golden dragon Korra saved earlier.

And that ending... The next two 1-hour specials are going to be VERY interesting

also sheesh when did the spirit world turn into such a hellhole

i mean, it was weird before, but now it's practically nightmare fuel

I managed to watch the first 10 episodes of last airbender today
Apparently there are 60 episodes in total or something, which is a lot
I love how Sokka completley derails a really serious situation woth his shenanigans: when is the giant friendly mushroom episode?
Also I can see Zuko earning himself a place on my 'characters who are dicks/assholes/screwed up but who I still like anyway' list.

Vaatu and Unalaq are fucking things up probably. But now I really want to see Koh comeback. He was such a creepy spirit and this would be a perfect time for him to return. He even told Aang "we will meet again."

I enjoy watching people watch this show for the first time. Sokka is hilarious. Just wait 'till he finds the cactus juice.

Oh, you're really gonna like Zuko.

The Guide
Korra needing help, so she goes on a sky bison to the airbenders? Sounds exactly like my fanfiction. OK, OK, I'll try to drop that, but seriously, it's not my fault I had a Legend of Korra fanfiction idea before it even existed!

So, nothing really happened in this episode. We just get further confirmation Varrick is a villain. I like that Tenzin is trying to live up to his father's expectations of him, and that may not be what he really is. It makes sense. I don't get why Jinora can connect to the spirits, though. Is it an inherent ability? I thought you could just train it.

OK episode. It looks like Desna and Eska may join the other side eventually, considering how Unalaq treated them. And now we know for sure Unalaq is trying to free Vaatu. I wonder if he knows he's the spirit of chaos, or he was just tricked by him into thinking freeing him would be good for everyone.

I rewatched the latest episode and came across a little bit of dark foreshadowing.

When Jinora and Korra are in the spirit world, Bumi jokingly says that their bodies may start floating and that they'll have to catch them before they fly away.

Guess what happens to Jinora.

The latest episode...

I was screaming what I saw you-know-who, but I really shouldn't have watched it yet.

That was such a cliff-hanger that I just want to see what happens!

It was nice seeing Iroh again. I'm curious to see if they'll have Korra seal away or otherwise incapacitate Vaatu. Maybe Unalaq will get imprisoned instead?

I am picturing two senarios right now...

The harmonic convergence is going to happen and the portals will be opened, and Korra and Vaatu will have this whole epic battle as Unalaq is betrayed by Vaatu and basically sealed or something. Korra wins, and she seals him back into the tree along with Unalaq, and then reseals the two portals.

Korra gets into a whole battle with Unalaq where she manages to enter from one of the portals. Finally Korra defeats him, and seals the portals before Vaatu manages to be free from the portal, saving the world another 10,000 years.

Honestly, I rather have the second way because the first way would just be too OP for Korra right now only learning all four elements after 6 months and still acting so new as the Avatar while Wan was so prepared and stuff. Of course, Aang wasn't completely prepared for the fight against the fire lord...

i don't really think the creators care about Korra being too OP at this point

i mean, it took her practically five seconds to master the avatar state

I consider any scenario in which Korra stops Vaatu in the nick of time (no pun intended) unlikely. Nabber has a point, especially since there was a brief period in which Korra entered the Avatar State in every episode.

Yeah, I am nearly done with 'Water', I just have the last two eps.

Episode 10
What was the point of Jinora even being there? All she was useful for was being captured and used as blackmail. But it was obvious Korra was going to get the second portal eventually. Let's put it this way, they weren't going to hype up Vaatu if Korra DIDN'T have to fight him at the end.

Yeah, Korra, you may have killed Jinora's soul. You probably should have thought of that before sending in a kid. Screw all that "relationship to the spirits", it's still dangerous there.

What was that evil waterbending that Unalaq was using? I wonder what's going to happen to Jinora now.

Also, what was the point of Korra being a kid in those parts? Is it supposed to be metaphorical or something, about how the spirit world makes her like a child again? Eh, I dunno.

But overall, I liked this episode. It definitely made me think of the original series, what with all the spirits and stuff. Even the Library returns, which is pretty cool.

Jinora was the one basically helping Korra in the spirit world and being able to help her find the way to the portals. THAT's her purpose.

Jinora's soul isn't gone. He didn't finish it. And it was Jinora's decision to enter, not Korra's.

Basically the opposite of healing dark spirits. Jinora is simply a prisoner to Unalaq right now.

Being a kid was very symbolical. It is basically how she is basically new to this realm and everything seems scary. Honestly, it made the episode more impactful.

Well, Iroh did say that in the spirit world, "your emotions become your reality," so Korra's fear and uncertainty probably caused the regression.

In regards to the discussion as to how they defeat Vaatu.

Wouldn't be a dark twist if Unalaq has Vaatu merge with Jinora, corrupting her and turning her into an anti-avatar, minus the power to bend all four elements. You know, like Raava and Wan. We do know that voice actress Grey DeLisle is voicing a dark spirit this season. What if it's a possessed Jinora?

That would be cool. It would be a bit weird if it was Jinora, though. After all, she's only appeared in a few episodes this season. She doesn't feel important enough to be an anti-Avatar. I would say he'd possess Unalaq, but if it's a female dark spirit...I really don't know.

Having it happen to Jinora would be much darker and add more tension. Could you imagine how devastated Tenzin would be?

have we seen any earthbending this season? i feel like they've really been leaning on the waterbending

Well, Bolin is off being Nucktuck and Lin is taking stupid pills so our two major earthbenders aren't doing anything. The trailer does show Bolin entering the portal so expect some earthbending soon.
