@Nabber:
*sigh* Guess there's no satisfying you at all. Bloodbending at day didn't necessarily need to be explained that well other then Yakone, Amon, and Tarrlokk came from a strong bloodbending family line which they actually said. They simply inherited the trait, how the family line learned Bloodbending would obviously be a much different story and focus on characters that aren't directly involved with the show's conflict other then having descendants that were. And if he hadn't bloodbended her, it was obvious Korra was going to beat him and she would tell everyone Tarrlokk attacked her. He thought he could cover it up, but it didn't end up working

The fact Amon was a bender explained why he was able to resist Tarrlokk's bloodbending. In A:TLA Katara resisted Hama's bloodbending because she was a stronger waterbender then Hama was. And the flashback showed that Amon was indeed more talented then Tarrlokk is

Overall I enjoyed the finale even if it did kind of have a quick turnaround. But I'd be lieing if I said I didn't enjoy the fact that
Aang restored Korra's bending and Korra gave Lin her bending back. It was prety sweet

I'm sorry. But somewhere in the finale, I remember why I liked Avatar. It wasn't just mindless killing. It was about destiny, fate, and choosing your own path, and it got really deep. But Korra doesn't have any of that, and maybe that's why I have to take a negative view on everything that happens, like how I find it ridiculous that the Avatar can just get their bending back because they're the Avatar. Or how Iroh didn't have much of a purpose in the episode and had the personality of a rock. Or how Mako is a cheating scum who can't decide between Korra or Asami. But it just feels to me like Korra is missing the deepness that made Avatar so wonderful.

Finally got the time to watch through episodes three and ten today, loving it so far.

I think Tenzin and Lin (Not just because she's a Bei Fong) are my favorites so far.

Bolin has the best cry ever.

Nabber Reviews the Season Finale Part 2

I see IGN gave the finale a perfect score. Interesting.

I said before that there was no real theme in Korra, but I was wrong. It seems that there is one slight theme: laziness will always triumph over hard work in the end. Think about it: Korra pretty much mastered three elements when she was maybe five. She never really had to try to work until she needed to learn airbending, but she quickly shrugged off training so she could hang out with friends and get entangled in a love quadrangle. You would think that at the end she has to learn patience, right? The Last Airbender was all about patience. Aang had to travel literally all across the world in order to learn waterbending. He needed to learn patience for earthbending, too. Firebending? He wouldn't listen to his master the first time around, rushed his training, and ended up hurting his own crush and resolved that he would never firebend again. Of course, he later had to learn to carry a small flame to the top of a giant set of stairs so he could learn firebending from the dragons that created it. So Korra also needs to learn patience for airbending, right?

Nope, it also came naturally to her when the time came. Great moral lesson there.

The IGN review also reminded me of something else. When Team Avatar invaded the air field and Asami had to face her father, my sister said, "Please don't let there be a giant robot battle." Guess what happened?

A giant robot mech battle.

In Avatar. -_-

Then there was Amon. What did we learn about him? He's a coward. Afraid to show his own face in public. When he was little, he reveled in bloodbending but somehow hated it at the same time, so he ran away from his father instead of confronting him. For some reason, he decided that he must rid the world of benders. Dunno why. I think this series made it pretty obvious that the whole entire conflict boiled down the stubborn bloodbenders and only bloodbenders abusing their powers to gain power. Not that Amon was afraid to use it himself, and that's the only thing it seems he can do: use a cowardly art to protect himself from real harm but still appear overpowered. Whatever happened to the good old villains from TLA? They used power and cunning to take down their opponents, not have to resort to darned bloodbending. And I'm still not buying this whole thing that they can do it without the full moon, because that was the only thing restricting them from being completely overpowered.

Look for part three of the series soon!

So, are the other three council members there just to sit about and raise their hand when Tarrlok asks "all in favor"?

No, they're also there to be kidnapped. Not that they ever actually continued down that road; they were immediately forgotten. Which brings me to my next point!

Ah, Republic City. It was apparent from the beginning of the show that it was in a state of disrepair. There was lots of hatered going around. In the finale, Korra finally triumphs over Amon... And that's it. They don't say what happens to the council, or to the Equalists, or the city in general. Just because Amon is gone doesn't mean that the world is free of harm now! But there's no resolution. Because they immediately go to Korra.

Korra, Korra, Korra. Her bending is taken away, and she goes to Katara, who despite bringing a guy back to life couldn't bring back Korra's bending. But that's not really a complaint. What is a complaint? Korra is a whiner. "OH NO I'M NOT THE AVATAR ANYMORE NO ONE LIKES ME WAAAAAH" and things like that. I guess that's just a character flaw though, not really something that's wrong with the series.

Then Aang returns her bending.

...wha? So the dead guy can return her bending? Huh? That doesn't make any sense.

And then the series pretty much ends. There isn't a cliffhanger. You would never know that the show isn't over. But you would never know the season is over either, because it was a really abrupt ending. No actual resolution there, not very complete.

I think that's all for now though.

You have to understand Nabber that Korra was originally only going to be 12 episodes. It wasn't until mid-development that it got approved for at least one more Season with an additional 14 episodes. We will get an aftermath of the whole victory over the Equalists. But not until Season 2 begins. We can assume Korra will give everyone who were innocent or had a job that required bending to do (Such as the police force or the Pro-Benders) that got their bending taken from Amon. And I know you said it wasn't exactly a complaint, but that one time Katara brought somebody back to life was with Spirit Water. If she had only her normal bending water, Aang would of most certainly died. I actually thought it was more silly that they even thought that healing water could bring back someone's bending. Also put yourself in Korra's position, you're the Avatar, the one person everyone in the world depends on you to keep balance in the world through the use of being able to use all 4 elements, but then suddenly someone takes your ability to use 3 of those Elements and at least she thinks at the time, impossible to gain them back again. It was justified for her to feel that way because she felt she could no longer do her job. It was like she was no longer the Avatar, technially all she was at that point was an Airbender.

And I think Aang giving her bending back when she's finally found how to contact the Spirit World is a better one then I feared. It's still sort of a quick way to end it, but if you complain about it you might as well do the same for the Lion Turtle in the A:TLA finale.

About the earlier post, Korra is kinda supposed to be the opposite of Aang in many ways. Korra was already pretty good with Water, Earth. and Fire but couldn't Airbend. While Aang started out in a vice versa situation. They're also very different personality wise. Pretty much the only similarity between the 2 should be that they're both Avatars. Different characters, different personalities, different situations, different show overall.

The Finale surely wasn't perfect, but I thought it wrapped it up pretty well. Anything extra will be explained in Season 2.

>mfw Tarlok is a bloodbender
>mfw Tarlok kills himself and his brother

Other than that, it was a pretty good season finale, probably because I never saw the original series since everyone seems to be praising. My favorite characters overall were Bo-Lin and Tenzin.

You ought to try out the original series sometime Gamefreak. It is quite an awesome series.

they shouldn't have made aang into a deus ex machina like that. it would have been interesting to see korra try to 'bring balance to the world' while being no more powerful than a normal airbender. it also would have reduced the sensation i had that they failed to figure out a coherent way to resolve the plot.

Yeah, I saw the season finale.

I...don't know what to think. On the one hand, things were pretty awesome but some things really bugged me.

1. I'm being bias because I had an idea similar to The Legend of Korra before I knew it even existed.
2. The whole Amon's identity. Really? Yakone again? Bloodbending again? Is bloodbending the new Deus Ex Machina? I really fail to see how being able to move people's bodies allows you to remove people's bending. I mean, why wouldn't Yakone do it if Amon could?
3. How did Korra manage to Airbend despite being debended by Amon? Her bending was TAKEN AWAY. It wasn't like Amon was thinking "I'll just take her three elements away, that makes sense,".
4. Aang somehow getting her into the avatar state. That is all.

Although, I liked the episode, even if it did try to fix things rather hurriedly.

the fact being, I think, that the writers of the show weren't sure if there was going to be a Book 2 at the time of making it, so they tried to wrap things up pretty quickly

and for 1. it just makes sense to think Amon is just more powerful than his father himself. Or he perfected the technique himself. you never know!!
