Unpopular opinions about the Mario series

But ironically, I prefer the smaller stages. Like Big Battlefield is just a waste of space

to an extent I agree.

On topic, I had absolutely no issue with the lack of plot in sticker star

Seen praises for Yoshi's Island everywhere, pointing it great as Super Mario World, but still I simply can´t enjoy playing Yoshi's Island. Maybe should give it another try these days.

You can talk to me, I can't enjoy playing it at all.

Plot was kinda the last thing I cared about in Mario RPGs

Unless Baby Luigi's Deus Ex Machina tears did something :>

Probably because the actual stories were nothing special. The only reason they were memorable was the well written dialogue and humour.

Yeah that's true

Still I kinda liked the Shroob invasion thing. Dunno why. Probably because He's involved in it

It could have been just the usual Bowser invasion and you'd be fine with it if it had Baby Luigi in it.

There was a Bowser invasion with Baby Luigi involved in Partners in Time

Kinda.

But if Baby Luigi was in Super Paper Mario's plot and played a significant role in it man I think I might like that game.

I would hardly call Bowser walking in, grabbing the princess and leaving an invasion.

I thought you were talking about the Melee stages for a second.
Yoshi's Story Melee stage is crap.

Unless you're fighting Ganondorf there.
Eh.

I love Yoshi's Story in Melee. Great stage for Marth. The small blast zones allow for early tipper kills.

Yoshi's Island Melee is the only Yoshi stage I like.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is overrated. Sure it's a great game but I prefer Super Paper Mario, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. And this is coming from someone whose first Mario RPG was Thousand Year Door. TTYD and Dream Team are about on the same level for me.

Super Mario Sunshine is my least favorite collectathon 3D Mario game, but it still beats the two most recent 3D Mario games. Despite this, I have never beaten it and after seeing youtube videos of the final level, I can't say I look forward to the day when I do try to beat it.

Mario Kart: Double Dash should get a sequel in which three-man kart races can be played.

Despite the notoriously bad reputation of the game, I want to obtain a CD-i and Hotel Mario someday in my life.

I like how Nintendo is using Mario, Luigi, Peach,Toad, and Bowser right now. I think the characters are getting better or are in the right track,but....
*Enters posible unpopular opinion* I miss the classic counterparts of Yoshi, Wario, and Donkey Kong. I feel they are somehow being reduced to undeveloped characters and here is why:

Yoshi: I don't need to explain again, seeing how repetitive I am, let's move on to the troll and the ape.

Wario: He went from a actual evil clone of Mario, who was insane and still has potential to a living whoopie cushion who has now limited appearances.

Donkey Kong: From a ferocious ape and alternative enemy of Mario to a ape with limited appearances and when he does appear with Mario, he is on a sport title. And Mario vs Donkey Kong is not really what it says, now that it's about Mini Marios. I have nothing against his adventures, but he needs to comeback.

APOLOGIES TO ANYONE WHO DOES NOT SHARE OPINIONS TO THIS “COMPLICATED MINDED MEMBER”.

I like what they did with Wario and DK personally.

yoshiking14x: I also think Donkey Kong could have more participation as a main Mario antagonist, since it was his role in the beginning.

I really can't see DK being a major antagonist. Even when he's doing something bad it isn't really all that bad, just him getting angry and Mario has to ring him in.

I like WarioWare and Wario Land, but I don't think Sakurai is doing him justice. No Sakurai, Wario Waft is not his signature move when he only uses it in two games.

When did exactly Wario started becoming a farting freak anyway?

The game I think of is Mario Strikers Charged but somehow I believe he farted before that title because I didn't raise any "huh" with that in Strikers Charged.

Perhaps there's an article on the wiki.

Super Mario Bros. is the best platformer, better than smb3 and SMW.

Dunno, it never happened in any of the platformers.

I SWEAR Mario Strikers Charged introduced him farting in some sort of way

Because here's the following list of games where Wario farted in (I know I hate my life)

Mario Party 8 (one of his taunts)
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Mario Sports Mix (he pulls some sort of fart bomb from his butt or something)
Mario Kart 8 (his horn is a fart)
Super Smash Bros. 4
