Unpopular opinions about the Mario series

I wouldn't say Mr L is bad, but by the time he's turned back into normal the novelty of a hammy evil Luigi wore off and I have no desire to see it come back.

Not that there is a way for it to come back, contrary to what people like to believe it's not some hidden darkside personality Luigi has hidden within him.
 
honestly thought the concept was rather lame, as evil luigi is just laughable and generally not that interesting.

It may not be that exactly, but I do think after it happened, there should be some memory of being Mr. L in Luigi's head somewhere, which is why I kinda wanted a reference to it in Dream Team when you go in his mind. Of course this was before Paper Jam retconned everything that suggested Paper Mario was just an artstyle in the past but eh.

I mainly give it leeway because they essentially turned him into a giant reference to super robot anime/super sentai.

not too fond of him either, if it wasnt for psycho waluigi i probably wouldnt even acknowledge the guy exists.
 
I don't even consider Waluigi evil Luigi. He's more like anti-Luigi. It does sound similar, but the difference is the anti-thesis to the nice, kind Luigi, not just "I want to take over the world and kill Mario" type of Luigi.
 
Waluigi is more like that guy who desperately wants to get noticed so he bases himself off somebody else more popular than he is.

The real reason that I like Mr. L though is because of his personality. Mainly the parts where he insults everybody, even his teammates, so nobody ends up liking him. His mask, hat and bandana look cool as well, although I was only half-joking about what I said earlier. His tech is pretty cool but a bit weird looking, but it's got that awesome L-type music.

Honestly I don't now where they would add him again without it being forced. Paper Jam could have worked but he had no chance.
 
They can always make him an alternate costume in video games.

Something Nintendo needs to do more frequently.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Mr. L also belong to Intelligent Systems?

Apparently, Paper Mario references were never planned for any of the Mario series characters.
 
I don't think IS owns any of the stuff they created for PM.
