Paper Mario: Sticker Star

The thing is, the game is no longer a Paper Mario game. It doesn't feel like a Paper Mario game.
Guess they will change things around for the Wii U.

That's assuming they're going to care about making a Paper Mario game to the Wii U, something which I am kind of heavily doubting at the moment.

I love this game. It just feels good, I'm fighting every enemy I come across, I have a ton of coins, which ill probably use to buy more standard stickers, since I run out of normal hammers and jumps usually.

I have other stickers to use and tons of money to buy whatever I choose.

I'm not too good with the battle spinner thing, but I get a second attack using the special thing.

I got PMSS for Christmas. I'm really liking it so far. The battle method through stickers is something I have to get used to.

Oh yeah, I got this, and it's fun at first until you realize that battling enemies is practically pointless.

Oh yeah, and the opening cutscene? That was so deprived of traditional PM charm I practically cried.

Oh yeah, that makes this the first PM to not open at Mario's house.

Yeah battling enemies is a waste of stickers. All you get is coins, which you can use to buy more stickers. Pointless.

I love this game, although it doesn't quite top TTYD, I definitely like it more than Super and 64.

I racked up a lot of coins at the beginning but I've started to lose them since I've been buying the things from the shady toad near the fling-a-thing place so I can fill up the museum, nowhere near done with that.

I'm about to go to the final level of World 3, I just spent a good 15 minutes buying things for the museum/upcoming boss battle.

I do see why the battles with enemies are kind of pointless, but I only avoid them if I've already fought them before and they just respawned because I left the area, that way it's more fun. The battles are the best part so I don't know why I would avoid them just to beat the game quicker.

Some people are still annoyed that it isn't what they wanted, but I say it's a great game. I really like how everything is cardboard and paper for the most part and they act that way.

The graphics and animations are great! The plot is fair too. But I'm not too impressed with the gameplay.

It's not that. It just generally feels like its lacking what makes Paper Mario a good series. Heck, we don't even have any solid characters besides Kersti, Mario, Peach, and Bowser. Everyone else is just unnamed Toad or enemy.

Also, what museum?

Is there any real plot? I'm in Chapter 2 and I don't see much plot here.

I love the gameplay, since I battle everything I don't usually have the same combo of stickers for battles in a row which mixes things up. Also, stickers that enemies drop are pretty good, like a Ninji's throwing star or a Spike's spiked ball, they do the same amount of damage a shiny sticker does.

If you go to Decalburg and remove the fountain, you can find a toad who opens up the sticker museum.

I'm not looking at it from the viewpoint that it has to be very much like previous Paper Mario games, I'm just playing it for fun, and I'm having fun. Also, I don't really see much plot either, although its nice to see some toads in certain levels that stand out, like the one in the oasis on 2-4, he's kind of an asshole.

Got it yesterday with my own money cause my family failed to get me it.

My problem is that I hate wasting stickers, and I feel like I need to kill the enemies with one sticker. The map is not that bad, but I hate how linear it is. Enemies are okay, but not enough variety and uniqueness to them. I still hate the angle. I feel like I'm always going back to decalburg to buy stickers, create thing stickers, and putting together my museum.

I do love the graphics, and there is more of a plot I thought there was. Usage of stickers and solving puzzles are pretty fun to. There isn't recipes/tattles/badges, but Stickers are pretty fun to collect. I just wish that stickers weren't wasted so easily, but at least you can find them anywhere.

I haven't ran out of stickers ever since I started, so maybe your using the stronger stickers too much or something.

Also, I find that I never use the battle spinner, except in boss situations, because it makes it more interesting to see how quickly I can take out my enemies with as little sticker usage as possible.

Although I have 7 album pages and I still only use 5 of them. I could probably fill them up with secret doors or things actually.

I found the reason to battling. :D

People say that you only get coins, but you NEED these coins if you're going to get powerful thing stickers for the boss battles.

And you can't beat the game without beating the bosses.

You can backtrack through levels and recollect things, but that's a lot more tedious than battling, getting coins then buying stuff you need when it's necessary. I ended with a little under 1000 before the final fight. Just from preparing and also going through world 5, since its a little difficult, I used up about 2000 of my coins I collected earlier on.

Battling only becomes annoying when you're purposely avoiding it, or if you just don't think that it's what makes the game enjoyable for the most part. I definitely felt the battling was the highlight of the game, followed by the level design, then the graphics/visuals, then the plot last because there really wasn't any huge plot, but each level had their own story, minus a few.

Also, I had to repeat the final boss a second time because at the end, before you finish off Bowser, something happens, but mine glitches and the thing didn't pop up, instead everybody just stood there for a few minutes until I realized the game fucked up.

I'm replaying it now, with more focus on the Sticker Museum than anything else, because I gave up on my first run. But I did manage to get all the HP Ups and Luigi Locations. Although, finding Luigi only rewards you with a very minor change in the credits that really doesn't matter.

Beat Gooper Blooper yesterday (I haven't been playing this much). Not sure how I missed the sponge during my first playthrough of the level in which it is found.

I think the best part about the Museum is just completing it. I thought there was no reward, even then I still think its a great thing to invest my time into. I'll be playing this on vacation.

It's also useful when you want to know where a specific Thing is (once you figure out where it is supposed to be used). That's what I like about it.

It's pretty good if something is too expensive in the Thing Market, aka Tailor's Shears which are 777 Coins. That thing is expensive.

Does anyone know where that crybaby green Toad went? I took him back to Decalburg but I can't find him anymore.

He's in one of the houses in the second part of the town. You know, from when you had to round up all of those Toads at the beginning of the game?

Just got this game a little while ago, and I just popped it in my 3DS. Gonna see how it is for myself.
