Alright, well I've sold 3 of my Strange Back Scratchers so far. Still have 6 to sell, hoo boy

Melee for Pyro is quite useless unless you are using combos. Melees are more of utilities than a legitimate weapon, since if you're in melee range, you may as well be using a flamethrower. If you're out of ammo, just flee for more ammo. You should be getting enough kills to keep your ammo filled, anyway.

However, certain weapons do have their uses. Use the Axtinguisher or Powerjack for burning then hitting with a melee to finish them. The Third Degree is good if you can ambush a Pocket and Medic, and the Backscratcher is good for roaming because of the passive bonus and the additional +25% damage for ambushing. The Homewrecker and Neon Annihilator are great choices if you are defending with an Engineer, because you can remove sappers. The Volcano Fragment is useless except in Medieval mode, and there is no reason to use the default Axe.

but from an engi-protecting point of view, don't even bother with the annihilator, it takes two hits to destroy sappers

when are your enemies ever going to be wet anyway

CTF needs better maps that allows less turtling

ctf_turbine_pro solves this problem somewhat, but the official maps just get repetitive and stalemate-ish after a while

Some parts of the map are changed so it is more acceptable for competitive play. Original, Pro.

I think competitive CTF only uses community maps because of the official maps having a stalemate quality.

There are more routes and flanks that discourage effective turtling, and other changes that aren't too visible like additional health kits or ammo boxes.

You do not start with Steam money, otherwise people would just make new accounts non-stop for free things and just trade the stuff back to their account.

I would recommend getting Premium if possible, there are a huge amount of items in the game, so 50 backpack spaces really isn't enough.
 
Jarate+Bushwaka is always a winner.

The rifle really depends on how good of a shot you are.

I went with the piss rifle because I had a snowballs chance in hell of getting a headshot.

When someone buys a Get Premium item and trades it to someone else, their account becomes premium.

The machina is not bad since it's shots can penetrate enemies but leaves a trace.

the bow (forgot's it's name) is good if you're that much of a close up and mobile sniper.

and the bazaar bargains relies on consecutive headshots or some shit like that,

Machina is bad with this set because you have no secondary and you cannot no-scope with it. The Huntsman (bow) goes great because it allows you to use the Jarate to it's full extent up close, though is not required. The Bazaar Bargain is a downgrade unless you're a demigod Sniper, and the Heatman's Heatmaker takes some skill but is otherwise pretty good.

No, they have to activate it through their backpack to use it. Simply trading it will not make your account premium. (And obviously, not usable by people who aren't F2P)
