I think it's fair to make Fire resistant to Fairy. I'll be MAD as hell if Poison is not super-effective against Fairy, though.

Don't you think that it would be a nail in the coffin for Gardevoir if it has to fear Ghost AND Poison attacks from a Gengar? It already has to worry about Shadow Ball, but you're adding insult to injury if Sludge Bomb becomes super-effective as well.

Yes, but it's unfair to think of only ONE Pokémon who would get a disadvantage instead of thinking of tons who would really appreciate the buff.

You do realize that the whole reason Poison was no longer effective against both grass and bug was because of the Paras evolutionary line and how it would have had three types that 4x powerful against it? So yeah, they would think of ONE Pokemon instead of thinking of tons.

Wait that's actually the reason?

Well, you got to admit that there are a lot of grass/bug type Pokemon, so it's not like it wasn't for bad reasoning, but yeah, iirc, that was one of the main reasons for that move.

Like every single grass :waluigi:Pokemon in the first generation was also a bug type. Not really, but pretty close.

Source, please?

That's stupid, because Paras evolutionary line now contains Dry Skin

Well, Paras was also the only grass/bug, but now there are MANY Pokemon families that are grass/bug that would get screwed over if Poison was still super-effective to both of the types.

They still contain Dry Skin which makes them like 6x effective against Fire

They're the only Pokemon with a x5 weakness iirc.

There are only 6 Grass/Bug types that we know of, shared between 3 families. Personally, I doubt that the Paras family was the sole reason that Poison got nerfed. With the abundance of Poison types in Gen I, I'd assume GF decided that it was an overpowered type (though many would state otherwise), made their new Steel type immune to it and weakened Poison as a whole for Gen II. I haven't found any official source that states why GF weakened Poison, but that would be my best guess.

On the note of Fairy types, I believe it was in an episode of Pokemon Smash when they confirmed (albeit really obscurely) that Poison and Rock were weaknesses to Fairy.

Poison and Rock types suck defensively, so I hope it's not true. We don't need Poison to be even crappier than it already is. I'm hoping Poison is super effective against Fairy.

Um...LGM, he's saying that Poison and Rock were weaknesses to Fairy, not weak (meaning Fairy is weak to Poison and Rock).

Doesn't the Rock-type have more weaknesses than the Poison-type? From what I recall, pure Rock-types have "5" weaknesses, while pure Poison-types only have "2" weaknesses.

Well okay!

Following the information from the Pokémon Direct, the official release has provided new details on the Pokémon. Mega Venusaur has the ability Thick Fat, Mega Charizard has the ability Drought and Mega Blastoise has the ability Mega Launcher which boosts its moves. It also confirmed that you will need to obtain a bracelet called the Mega Ring that holds a mysterious stone called a Key Stone. The Trainer’s Key Stone resonates with the Mega Stone held by his or her Pokémon. In addition to that, various screenshots were added.
It was also revealed that Pokémon Bank & Pokémon Transporter prevent hacked Pokémon from transferring and work with multiple copies of the games.
Pokémon Bank, and with it Pokémon Transporter, for sale in Japan on December 25th for 500¥ a year with a trial until January 31st where you have to pay afterwards

Yeeeeessssssss, MEGA CHARIZARD!!!!!! LOOKS EPIC!!!! That's all I wanted. I can now die in peace.

Don't be surprised if it's still garbage in the competitive world, thanks to its massive Stealth Rock weakness.
