Pokemon X and Pokemon Y

Sorry for double post... but:

Oh my god.

Hey, I think it's hilarious! This is an epic Pokemon!

Eh, we all know what's going to happen. We'll whine about the evolutions for a while, and then we'll actually use the Pokemon and get used to them all.

Tbh, they're not THAT bad. Final evolutions always have this awkward look about them when they're trying to be badass when they evolved from cute little animals. But I don't think any of them are as bad as Emboar or Torterra. So I think they're OK.

...I shouldn't be spoiling myself, but I'm using the excuse that I knew the final evolutions for Gen 5 when it came out.

I'm not much of a fan of Torterra, I think it just looks a bit overcomplicated. Also, Sceptile is a real step-down from Grovyle. And...I think Typhlosion is really unoriginal. It's just a bigger Quilava. And I don't like the colour scheme in that evolution line.

So, moral of the story, there are plenty of final evolutions that aren't as good as the pre-evolutions.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, where the hell did Froakie3 get his scarf from? That didn't come from anywhere. And if it was part of his bubble thing, that would make sense, but it isn't.

...hehe. It's the Fighting/Psychic/Dark trio thing with their secondary type. Cute. Although Fighting/Flying/Rock is actually a true balanced trio, considering Dark is immune to Psychic.

Greninja (a.ka. Froakie3) has a tongue for a scarf, apparently.

So, his bubbles disappeared? Why would they get rid of his defining feature? It would be like Fennekin3 having no fur in its ears! Oh, well. This isn't the first time this has happened. Like how Meganium loses the leaf on its head.

Yet another pic of Froakie3. Also, a wild Eevee, apparently.

UPDATE: And another.

I always like Greninja, from what I first saw. I always wanted to choose Froakie. :)

unless they break tradition, the overwhelming majority of fennekins will be male

i don't know why. it's pretty sexist and also biologically illogical*, but every starter species works that way

*aka bioillogical. not that pokemon has ever cared about that

Pokemon has always been sexist. Male pokemon have potential to have better IVs (in old gens), female pokemon always get smaller weapons as if the female is the "weaker" gender, and people refer to Pokemon as male unless it's blatantly female-looking.

Oh, and starters are usually male, which is something I'll never get.

The starters are mostly male to make it harder to breed more of them.

Pshaw, then why have female starters at all if they want to discourage breeding?

Because then people will think it's a bit sexist to have only one gender. I dunno, that was always the conclusion I came up to. Like the reason that Eevee is mostly male as well. To stop you from easily breeding and making a whole bunch of them easily.

Ditto, lol.

Really, it should've been equal. I don't know how breeding starters break the game.

It's mostly for trading between games. Unless you work hard to find a Ditto, you wouldn't want to trade away your only starter to another game so they can have it. Like how you only get one Legendary Pokemon. It's almost impossible to get both version exclusives if you only have one game, as people aren't likely to trade away a legendary, even for the other version exclusive.

So, in a way, it discourages trading? I dunno, but clearly it works.

No matter what, the explanation for this is still weak, and besides, if people really want a female starter, they can reset until they get one.
