Back when I was a noob, I made a thread bashing the metric system. I think I'll bump it.

This is the Mario Kart 8 thread, right?

My thoughts exactly.

Re: Metric System Mart 8

That's not what the title says.

But joking aside, I guess we should talk about Mario Kart 8 now.

It's good.

Re: Mario Kart 8

Let's continue talking about Mario Kart 8.

The slide-attack from MK:DD is featured in MK8, according to MarioWiki. It wasn't shown in other trailers. I need some footage of this feature.

Where does it say that? If it does, then it's false

It says in the 'Mario Kart 8' navigation template and in the 'Slide-Attack' page.
I think it's false.

Re: Mario Kart 8

lol, WonderCon is very close to where I live. Not sure if I want to go though.... :P

Re: Mario Kart 8

I want to download Mario Kart 8 rather than wait in a line for a few hours, but then I remembered Nintendo likes to charge an extra £10 for popular games on the eshop... So does anyone know if they'll do the same with Mario Kart 8?

Or you preorder it from Amazon and if you're lucky they send it a day early (happened with my Wii U).

My card doesn't work with online shops, only cashpoints, sadly.

Re: Mario Kart 8

I have to be thankful that I have a job and that I already saved up enough money to get the game. Since almost no one in Venezuela has the Wii U, and the game is going to be expensive as hell (around 150-200$ converted to Bolivares, that's how bad our economy is), I won't have to pre-order it or anything. Hopefully I'll get it on release day. I'm not sure if we'll get it on May 30th here, but May 31st is as far as it gets, so one more day is no problem.

My pocket will hurt that day... Almost two months of salary will go on that game, but I think it's worth it.

I don't want to watch videos because I want to be surprised when I get the game, but what does it have? Does it reveal anything new?

You mean like this:

just take the ID value after the equal sign and imbed it. Quote my post if you want to know what I'm talking about

Re: Mario Kart 8

I'm pretty sure he just doesn't want to physically see it

Exactly. I want to know what it is, but I just don't want to see it. I did that with Mario Kart Wii: I wanted to "meet" the race courses by myself and to discover them on my own, and not through a Youtube video. It's one of the best decisions I've taken when it comes to videogames.

I want to say I have the self-restraint to do that but I'd be lying to myself.

Also, I don't think that video showed anything new that you need to worry about. Just the course layout of Mario Kart Stadium and taking peeks at what is going on outside the track (the crowd, character flags, brands like Bowser Oil or Lemmy's Tire Service, etc.).

Re: Mario Kart 8

Good news. I might be getting a Wii U, but the burning question here is: Does the Wii U play Wii games?
