Re: Mario Kart Wii U

Brocolli and cauliflowers are flowers as well.

Did you see the menu in Coconut Mall? The Mushroom Kingdom inhabitants have a very strange diet.

It's a fast food restaurant, what would you expect? Plus, if you think about it, that's all they have there. What else can eat? Dirt? (Animal Crossing Wild World Reference)

Re: Mario Kart Wii U

On the subject of blue shells, I'd personally like to see those demons in the form of an item removed completely.

Re: Mario Kart Wii U

As much as some people hate them they probably won't (or shouldn't, in all honestly) be removed because

There is another way to balance out a race without stuff like that such as giving the players that are really far behind another player boost mushrooms.

Re: Mario Kart Wii U

I find the blue shell in Mario Kart 7 fine, because it can touch players on its road, which makes this item actually useful for the player who throw it. And I agree this item is needed to give a chance to the others to win if the first is far from the second.

Re: Mario Kart Wii U

It keeps races interesting.

The reception can be mixed, however, since some may prefer the Flying Spiny Shell over the grounded one.

No it doesn't, it does not benefit anybody nor does it balance out anything. It wasn't in the first mario kart nor was it in the gba version. A race does not need to be balanced out. Maybe the people in last or far behind need to actually practice so they can actually catch up. The people who are in first don't get that far ahead of the other players. You very seldom get in last and if you do, you usually skyrocket to the lead very easily.

You clearly don't get what Mario Kart is about. They wanted to create a game where all players have a chance of winning the race, even those that are less skilled. That's why we have items like the Spiny Shell or the Golden Mushroom. Also, it is indeed possible for a player to pull far ahead of everyone else if they keep consistent racing lines and somehow survive the mess that happens at the beginning of the race.

Also, FYI, the Spiny Shell does appear in Mario Kart: Super Circuit.

TBF i'd rather have those with less skill play the game until they get good enough to win alot, instead of being cheap winning just because they got an item.

Re: Mario Kart Wii U

I prefer the flying Spiny Shells. I think the main reason they travel over the ground in MK7 is because of water.

I myself think they could have make them flying above the surface and then dive in when they reach the first racer. However this doesn't work in courses that have underwater ceilings.

This is the exact reason why I race in the Mushrooms Only community in MK7.

Okay, I was wrong about the GBA version. I thought it didn't have it.

What I mean is, there are other items that the user can use to get ahead other than the spiny shell. If they are going to keep it, they should make it a rare item. It should not be able to be obtained as often as it was in other games.

Mario Kart spin-off games like Madagascar Kartz and Sega All Stars Racing don't have an item similar to the blue shell but as a supplement they have Special Items for each character that suprisingly causes them to catch up pretty quickly. Also, I have played mario kart a lot and I have never experienced getting so far ahead of the other player unless they are CPUs which we all know have the brain the size of a pebble anyway.

Well yeah, the Spiny Shell is too frequent as it is now. Maybe they should appear only when there is a very large distance between 1st place racer and all the others. Also, there was no point in removing the shell's wings if it is still able to fly.

Or they could give the human and CPU players a short boost if the player in first is really far ahead like sega did with monkey race from super monkey ball.

Re: Mario Kart Wii U

Honestly, the most I see blue shells in a race is once. It does keep it interesting since I tend to always be at the front of the pack against CPU's. Human players aren't as predictable as CPU's so I have more trouble with them.

Sadly, that community died off on me, since it has been impossible for me to do four races without players disconnecting during the process.

Anyway, the Bullet Bill needs some major buffs, such as moving much faster, along with being even more common to get for those who are way behind in a race. In fact, it would be even more amusing if the character actually rides on the Bullet Bill like it's a surfboard.

Re: Mario Kart Wii U

Bikes are cool and all, but they should really remove the ability to wheelie. That's what made bikes broken and overpowered and that's what made Funky Kong the real star of Mario Kart Wii

I liked the wheelies, they make you look cool. (They also do in real life)

Re: Mario Kart Wii U

Then they also give karts the ability to drive on two wheels or something to balance it out.

What exactly does the wheelie do? All I see is that it makes you look cool like I just said.

Also, this may sound stupid, but it would be cool if you could put hydraulics on your cart.
