What? But driving is cool =/
I've tried it before, the driving instructor yelled at me too much. That signals that I'm terrible at it and would be dead by now if it weren't for him.
Anyway, I'd love it if they put the demos on the eShop. They likely won't though.

You should try again with a different instructor. You never know when you're going to need to drive a car. And one life tip: do not let anyone ever yell at you.

Re: Mario Kart 8

I just realized that the Mobius strip stage doesn't change sides each lap but you casually travel all over each side of the strip every lap. If I was confused by the first course of this game then I wonder how confusing rainbow road will become. Do you think they're going to set it on/near planets like they did in MK7 or just back to the sky/space.

Re: Mario Kart 8

One question to the people trying MK8 out: Is it possible to play this using a Wii U Pro Controller?
I find that more confty than the GamePad, and it would be more realistic for Local Multiplayer purposes.

Re: Mario Kart 8

It should be, because if it was only the GamePad, you would be stuck at 2 player Multiplayer only, and since you can't buy a GamePad separately, it would mean Online Multiplayer only.

Re: Mario Kart 8

If the Wii Wheel is confirmed then Wiimote + Nunchuk and Classic Controller should work.

Re: Mario Kart 8

No, these are different Controllers.
It's rather, if the Wii Wheel is confirmed, Wii Remote will work too.

Have you noticed that there wasn't any Spiny Shells in the demo?

Even if they're not in the demo, chances are, the Spiny Shell will be returning to cause mayhem on the leading racers.

Re: Mario Kart 8

Didn't see this but I thought I'd reply to it anyway.

Have you noticed that there wasn't any more than 12 characters, only three tracks and 2 laps only?

It's only a demo, can't expect it to be too complete for a game coming out in 2014.

Re: Mario Kart 8

well demos are nothing short of a shielded version of the game so it's to be expected.

I'd be really surprised if they even had like 20% of the game being able to be played from this point in time.

Re: Mario Kart 8

I would not like to see the Spiny shells gone.

They keep the game from being too easy.

I wish demons had more than 20% of themselves in them.

there are ways to make the game harder without having a stupid cheap item making you lose solely because you were hit right before you cross the finish line

Re: Mario Kart 8

Mario Kart 8. REAL creative name.

Re: Mario Kart 8

because mario games are known for creative names right? ESPECIALLY spin-offs

Re: Mario Kart 8

For the people complaining about Blue Shells not appearing in Demo's, I have a MK7 Demo Cartridge, and Blue Shells appear a lot.
I also have an MKDS Beta Cartridge, and even there there are lots of Blue Shells (sometimes even 3 in a row).

Re: Mario Kart 8

Demos still don't mean the final product. In Mario Kart 7, a beta element was the Spiny Shell with wings

Re: Mario Kart 8

Oh, forgot to say: When I was playing, I fell off the stage once, and I watched Lakitu catch me and fling me back on stage. No transitions or anything, which was pretty neat.

Re: Mario Kart 8

I've noticed that in a video. I wonder what will happen when there's a high cliff?

mooooooon juuuuuump

Re: Mario Kart 8

Argh, moon jumping is already nonsensical in Mario Kart Wii modding

Re: Mario Kart 8

I hope this doesn't become a trend. I mean, we once had a cool name like "Double Dash!!". It will be boring and lame if from now on all Mario Karts are called 7, 8, 9, etc... This is not freaking Mario Party.

These 'Boring & Lame' names were already a Trend. DS, Wii, 7 and now 8. DS & Wii are just as creative as 7 or 8. I wouldn't get your hopes up about the name being 'cool' anytime soon.

But it's only a name, it doesn't effect the gameplay or really anything other than the front cover and title screen. It's the same as SSB4 being called 'SSB for 3DS/WiiU', it's a boring name but it really doesn't change anything about the game.
