Mario Golf: World Tour

Most of mine were on the regular courses for some reason. I also got one on Mario's Star but that was item usage.

Finally convinced my cheap ass to get the DLC. Very pleased. The remixed music gives me a warm fuzzy.

I especially love the updated Mario's Star course.

When I heard a bit of Mario Kart DS Peach Gardens in the Mario Golf Peach Gardens course, I flipped out. MKDS is my childhood.

I think the parts from Bowser in the dark land in the Bowser Courses were great. They took me back to SM64 (DS, of course).
Ahh, I'm not there yet. But, I'm excited!

Metal Mario beats Gold Mario instantly. He was unqiue, and nowdays has a differnt voice and personality. Gold Mario is just Mario with an annoying ability that can hinder and help at the same time.

You can't even use Gold Mario on Nintendo community.
Anyway Gold Mario is a terrible character because he always has the fire flower ability, the heavy bouncing effect of his ball is hell on humps. And no approch shots at all. The only purpose of this character is to get coins.

Are the coins useless?

Besides purchasing gear, coins can be used to change your Mii's dominant hand, favoured shot type (fade/draw), and allow you to purchase mulligans which allow you to retake your shots in various modes.

Hey does anyone know if it's possible to get Mii Gear from tournaments you may have missed? Pretty sure I missed a few.

Well apparently I don't qualify for that.

Just after it finishes, you don't need to qualify to get the items afterwards.

After the Star Open, you can buy them from the shop with a hefty price tag.
Star Open?
What's it called? Star something at least? That big tournament like that only the top 60% in world tournaments can play in?

Actually, the gear you get from major tournaments doesn't appear in the shop.

So even if he can get the gear before the Star Open (btw you can also just get a trophy in regionals and qualify), he'll still be missing out on the Star Open gear for who knows how long.

Star Open?
Besides what's been said before about qualifying for it, the Star Open itself is a major tournament that takes place on a revamped to be difficult Seaside Course. Every hole is considerably different, and it now has tournament greens (along with tournament tees if I'm remembering right).

From my troublesome times with them, tournament greens (should probably get some pictures this time for the wiki) increase ball speed when you land on them, but it's slowed when putting. They're quite tricky, you can't get them outside of majors as far as I know.

How popular is Gold Mario compared with Metal Mario?

Metal Mario is 100000 times cooler than Gold Mario. And I like Silver more than Gold.
Would you prefer Silver Luigi?

I still saw the Castle Tournamnet Gear in the shop even though I had already received it. But otherwise I wouldn't know if you missed out on the major gear. If that's the case, I think I might actually bother to do the Star Open now.

I did it ages ago, no need.

No because I prefer Mario over Luigi and Metal Mario is pretty much Silver Mario.
See, this guy gets it.

was on the fence about getting this, anyone care to convince me it's worth a pick up?
The well-priced DLC literally doubles the content, and the game is stuffed with it and then some as it is originally.

One of my most played games; broke 500+ hours within a few months of owning the game. Definitely a recommendation, the gameplay is smooth and despite liking the Mario Tennis games more I love this far more than Mario Tennis Open.

Also, you can play with the people who own the game here if you're interested and there's even an Awards tournament based on the game coming up soon.

If you plan on playing with other people then go for it. Otherwise, it's a decent game that will hold your interest for a while. I found that my interest in solo play had diminished a lot fairly quickly so multiplayer makes up a good portion of my play time. There's a lot to do if you don't think you'll get bored of the single player quickly. Lots of missions for each stage and stuff.

If you get it I'll play matches with you, but I'm not particularly itching for it since I'll play any multiplayer game if I have free time to kill + feel like being cooperative. Also DLC is cool, Sparkling Waters in particular is an amazing level; just ask Ice here.

I know some people on here really love the game though (look above) so I might be the odd one out on this opinion. tl;dr: Multiplayer is pretty fun w/ friends, single player is nice but it didn't stop me from putting down the game after a few weeks. DLC is solid.
