What games do you think are overrated?

I have to say that Mario Kart DS gets way too much love even though I've found two major flaws in it.
 
If you look up "overrated" in a dictionary, Super Mario Galaxy 2 should be its entry. We're like the only Mario forum where the majority doesn't overly praise this game
 
The Super Smash Bros. Series

The game is claimed to be the best fighting game ever and there is no fighting game that is better than it. I do like the series but saying that it's the best fighting game ever is pushing it. There really isn't a video game that is "the best" in any way because everyone has their own opinions.

I also hate how on youtube, people talk about people having bad taste because they disliked a video of some music from a popular video game. Just because everyone likes it but you don't does not mean you have bad taste. With that logic everybody has bad taste.
 
I can't stress how much I think Super Mario Bros. 3 is overrated. It's a great game, sure, but it's not fantastic and it's certainly not one of the best Mario games.

Also, Ocarina of Time. Scratch that, just most of the Zelda series overall. I find the whole series really boring to play, but I'm happy watching somebody else play it, if they know what they're doing.

I never have played angry birds. It seems fun but it doesn't look like it will hold my attention for long.

An overrated games topic? I'm surprised a topic like this wasn't made sooner. If not, then I was considering making one myself. Anyway, the game that comes to mind whenever this subject is brought up is Mega Man 2. That game is the very definition of overrated. The game has crappy level design, shoddy object placement, and a broken weakness cycle, where nearly every boss is weak against the same weapon (including Metal Man himself). I'll never understand why this game continues to get so much more praise and recognition than all the other games in the series, despite Mega Man 3 and many others outclassing it in almost every way.

i actually agree with that. i've never played megaman 2 till recently, and even with the regular buster, almost every boss goes down easily.
 
I feel portal 2 is rather overrated. That's not to say I didn't have fun playing through it and didn't find it innovative, I just don't get the idolization of the characters. Sure Glados still has good one liners, but I definitely preferred her in portal 1 because she sounded like she just didn't care about you, like a real robot. Cave Johnson is fine but I still prefer the atmosphere of portal 1 where you have no idea what the hell's going on or where you are. You're just in a lab somewhere at the mercy of this robot. Its like Hal or I have no mouth so I must scream. Its creepy and the orange glow every time you looked somewhere remotely unreachable gave the impression you were flat-out in hell , doomed to this place forever. And then in portal 2, everything starts being explained. The creepy mystery is gone and it's just
Wheatley who went evil
pretty much to double the game's length.

I did enjoy the extended length and added features of portal 2 though so that's something for it.

I personally don't like Super Mario Bros. 3 that much. And while they're decent games, I don't like Metroid Prime or The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask as much as others.
