Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games

Their wanted new characters are Rival AGAIN?
Rogue and Jet, Birdo etc.
M&S Roster is boring in NOW!

I will never expect after M&S game again. (No new characters EVEN NPC)
Toadette, Rosalina and Diddy Kong NEVER make an appearance of M&S.
 
Toad needs to be playable, darn it. He's playable in every other Mario spinoff. :mad:

You can check out this table. Fewer than half of the spinoffs include him.

In most times Toad is only regarded as a referee, and Toadette gets a worse treatment. But I believe they don't deserve it at all.

Yeah, I might skip out again, but I really should get it for my Mario collection...
 
I'm still thinking about getting it just to get an idea about how the Olympic events themselves are going to be presented. I'm just hoping that like previous installments (I'm looking at you MS London 2012 OG, 3DS version!), we won't be forced to use a certain "group" for events).

And yes, I already know about the "selection procedure" for the Figure Skating Doubles event. And yeah, I already have in mind who I'm going to choose each session (don't worry, they're not bad combinations like what I've seen in screenshots during the game's development).

Also, do any of you find it strange that the press themselves hasn't gotten the rest of the main art assets in relation to this game yet...?

You have to consider the more recent installments, though. In sports games, Toad is playable in all but Mario Tennis. Not to mention, Toad or a recolor of him is getting a playable role in most mainstream Mario games that allow more than 2 players simultaneously.
 
So I've listened to most of the new covers of the Mario themes in this, and I think that someone at Sega Sound Team really likes techno/dubstep because that's what a lot of the songs sound like.

To put it in perspective: London 2012's covers sounded like Generations Act 2 covers, Sochi 2014 sounds like Act 1 covers.

Not that it's a bad thing, but it's not entirely fitting for the atmosphere of the game imo. And heck, some of the remixes are awesome, I mean these covers have been one of my favourite parts of this series since the original Winter Games:

They even through in Cool Edge from Sonic Unleashed.

One thing I liked about the Mario & Sonic games are the covers (that's what they are; none of this are remixes) of the music.

This must be Mario's attempt to get back at Sonic for figure skating with Peach in the trailer of the game. Little does Mario know, Sonic doesn't feel the same about Amy as Mario does Peach :smug:

Just kidding of course, but interesting how they have these in the promotional stuff for the game xD

Artwork and pretty pre-rendered things are the only things this game has going for it.

I like that you go for some amount of all series representation even if it's impossible given characters like Sally were only meant for Media like TV Shows and Comics. But seriously, I never want to see Princess Elise show up again anywhere in the Sonic series. Let alone in crossovers.

Mostly joking, and Sally is obviously many fans' heartfelt wish. I meant they share more common points with princess characters.

But at least other recurring heroines (Cream and Rouge) should have been in this series.

No, just an inference. He is always around so many different kinds of women or what I like to call "girl jumping". First pauline, then daisy, then peach, then pauline, then peach. As a result, I can at least infer that he is a ladies man.
