Xbox One

Doesn't really matter, because if this generation of gaming fails, then it's back to PC gaming.

My brother doesn't like it either, but he said that there's going to be a new generation of gamers that see this as commonplace. Despite all this outrage, we're still going to get loyal Xbox fans that are going to buy the X-cox One.

Yeah, hell it's back to PC gaming. I sure hope the computer I get has a good enough video card...

Nintendo just used Microsoft's crap as fertilizer.

get it

because

consoles and funny names somehow go together

That is so true

But I buy just Nintendo's crap anyway

the one probably means the almost-certain one out of ten stars the console will get in the future

i slept through the conference but

the real question is

which next-gen console is the One 4 U?

To be honest, before the presentation of the Xbox One, I was excited.
When it was announced, I was like "Great!".
5 minutes after it, I was like "Fuck this shit, it won't sell!".
After reading through many Links to Articles in this Thread, I was like "Microsoft is doomed!".

Why is there a thread for the original Xbox?

The name sucks as much as Wii U does. Looks like Sony realized that adding 4 on the end instead of something else was a smart choice.

It overall doesn't really look impressive and they keep trying to push the fact that it does television. But a tv does tv.

Also I read somewhere that there's no backwards compatibility? Looks like I'll just get the 360 and/or the PS4. Probably the ps4 for the better exclusives.

Gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with what the next-gen of gaming looks like. I didn't care if the graphics weren't such a step up, but the PS4 AND the Xbox One don't have anything that actually looks like it's part of the next gen of gaming. It just looks like an upgrade to the PS3 and Xbox 360. At least the Wii U has something quite different with the Gamepad and stuff.

It seems like Sony and Microsoft are going different directions. Sony wants a system about games. Microsoft wants a system that controls your living room. Nintendo just is "Screw it, we're just going to do what we always do."

Higher resolution graphics don't make something Next-Gen, it's just something that evolved over the years the Industry was evolving.
Now it seems like they've reached their final evolution, and can't get anything better than the 'Apple' Retina Screen.

Same here, to many Buttons and Controls.
If I want to play on a PC, I prefer to have Controls as simple as possible.
Well, same thing when I played Sonic Unleashed on my Xbox 360, the Button Layout confuses the crap out of me, when playing more on a Nintendo 3DS.
Not always true, I also mess up the X and Y Buttons on my 3DS all the time.

As much as I would want to try to PC gaming stuff, I just couldn't play a game with a keyboard and mouse.

Then use a gamepad?

Then get a controller for it. You can play games on the PC with one if its able to connect to it I believe.

Not all games have support for it.

Laughing my fucking ass off from just reading this thread and linked stuff. Not even abbreviating it.

One can get GlovePie to play games with a Wii Remote. Works pretty good. To a certain degree.

There is bound to be software for other controllers as well.

I mean, not all games officially support Game Controllers.
I know that, because if I want to make a PC game work with a Controller, I must implement support for it into the Source Code.
I've once made a PC Demo that could only be controlled by an Xbox 360 Controller, and when porting it to a Mac, everything worked just like on a PC, except for the Controller, I had to remake the Controls just for Mac, in order to make it work.
