Super Smash Bros. for Wii U & 3DS Discussion

I don't know if this was ever talked about but has anyone ever thought that Brawl was actually hinting to another Super Smash Bros. game?
Brawl had GCN Rainbow Road music and we now have 3DS Rainbow Road confirmed for the 3DS version
Ashley's theme was in Brawl and Ashley is now confirmed as an Assist Trophy
Brawl had an Animal Crossing stage and now 3DS/Wii U has Villager and Animal Crossing stages
Little Mac was an Assist Trophy and now we have a Boxing arena like stage in the Wii U version.
etc, etc.

Anyone have this feeling? Or well the creators at least took those unfitting elements (Rainbow Road music, Ashley's theme but no Ashley) and kind of added them into Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS

In my opinion Rainbow Road was a given considering it is probably one of the staples of the Mario Kart franchise. Animal Crossing is a large Nintendo franchise and so I'd assume that it would get a playable character. Ashley is also a major character in WarioWare so an Assist Trophy isn't too far a thought, though it does make me wonder why Kat & Ana in the previous one and if a new one is released whether Ashley will be in it. Little Mac, maybe it's because his franchise wasn't the largest, although there are the Ice Climbers. But it is an interesting idea.

I think those are all coincidences. I don't think it had anything to do with hints to the next game. It's as circumstantial as there being a Pikmin & Olimar trophy in Melee if you had Pikmin on your memory card hinting to him being playable in Brawl.

Highly coincidental if you asked me. Super Mario Galaxy never even had any references in Brawl, except for a mentioning on the Chronicle.

Talking about the Chronicle, I hope that feature doesn't return. It's a waste of time and space. I mean, I doubt everyone is interested in knowing the release dates of all Nintendo games.

I also hope that Masterpieces don't return.

Well I'm not the biggest Sonic fan in the world, or any fan for that matters. Extremely neutral with the franchise. I just wasn't really looking foreword for anymore third party characters.

I'm someone that would of been really sad and/or pissed off if Sonic didn't return. I still would of gotten SSB4 regardless. But I wouldn't have been satisfied with Sonic being Brawl exclusive. It would be like Nintendo telling me: "Hey do you want to play Sonic (Main character of one of my favorite game series that's more difficult to get in the game because he's not from Nintendo) in Super Smash Brothers (My favorite game franchise of all time)? Just play Brawl again!"

When everybody was hoping for certain newcomers. My biggest hopes for SSB4 was "I want to see Sonic as a Smash Bros. veteran"

So please understand how I'm a bit passionate about this xP

P.S. You can't deny having Sonic and Megaman in the same game for the first time is awesome. You know me and '3K are digging this.

I was okay with having Sonic back. He's not that bad (However, I still depise his role in SSE because that basically was like a middle finger to me saying that Sonic can just take out Tabuu while everyone else sucked).

The problem is I don't like the Sonic fanbase much when it comes to Smash Bros. They are always demanding more characters like Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, etc. Sonic is enough. This is a Nintendo-universe game. I don't mind some 3rd partiers, but I rather keep it as a Nintendo thing.

Yeah I'm glad Sonic's back but I know the Sonic fanbase is trying to be a bit spoiled with wanting more characters other then Sonic in Smash Bros.

ESPECIALLY IN REGARDS TO SHADOW

(Though I personally wouldn't mind if Tails made it in somehow just to complete that Aprils Fools joke from EGM years ago. Plus if there is at all a chance for Sonic to get a 2nd character, Tails deserves it the most as he's essentially Sonic's equivalent to Luigi. But I know it's very unlikely and I am content enough with just Sonic.)

If Shadow would to be a newcomer, I would be furious. However, being as Tails is my favorite Sonic character, I would be alright with that much much more.

There definitely won't be more then Sonic in SSB4.

However... I have thought of the possibility that now Sonic's a veteran franchise and not just a one-off. I could see Sonic getting another character in the fifth Super Smash Bros even if Sonic's still a 3rd party then. Especially if Sakurai isn't the director next time.

I hope that if Masterpieces return they aren't a complete waste of space with those ridiculous time limits, just have the game be a demo version like for example a whole world of SMB1 or Ocarina of Time up until you finish the Deku Tree, instead of 40 seconds of F-Zero

I've come to the conclusion that they are probably just boring, generic levels you play through with different characters.

Which is depressing, because I would really rather see something like the Subspace Emissary with cutscenes, plot, and stuff.

Seems like something out of Rayman Origins.
I really how SP has something like Melee's Adventure Mode but expanded, I loved going though the little stages like Mario and Zelda, so a mode like that but with more Nintendo-inspired levels would satisfy me.

If it's Bowser's brain how would Bowser be able to exist there?

Unless this Adventure Mode has different paths for different characters and this is Mario's path...
