You get it for cheaper though. You either have to spend an extra $160+ for the 3ds + smash bros or $360+ for the Wii U plus Smash Bros. if you really don't want to wait.

FE's idea is having Snake be a character already in the game that only appears on the 3DS when the two games are linked.

I like that idea tbh

i think the whole concept behind the way you get mewtwo's dlc is unfair as well
but whatever

I personally think it more punishes people who don't have both versions of the game then rewards people who do.

I agree with Icemario on this-- it doesn't "punish" anybody because Mewtwo is a separate, additional character that does not have a significant effect on core game-play. It does serve as a reward for those who purchase both copies of the game by giving them additional, non-essential content that they would otherwise have to pay for.

What I would consider punishment is if Nintendo actively locked essential content (such as game modes or online play) unless consumers bought both versions of the game, forcing them to buy two incomplete products. It would not serve as a proper reward to those who buy both versions of the game because they expect a full product when they make a purchase.

but having locked dlc just through both versions alone is unfair, and is stupidly greedy especially since a lot of people dont have money for both versions as well as for both systems, which as said it's unfair and to the point of stupid.


Although having mewtwo paid dlc is just fine, along with other dlc as well.

I don't think DLC should only be for those that have both versions, I just think that offering it for free to those that purchase both games is alright because it serves as a promotional bonus. If they didn't offer Mewtwo paid DLC, then I think it would be unfair because it would single out those that only want (or can only have) one version of the game.

One thing I'm wondering about it since Smash Bros. 4 is technially two games. When/If Mewtwo becomes paid DLC after the promotional period, would you technically have to buy Mewtwo twice just to get him on both games if you wanted him should you manage to get both games later on? Or is somehow buying him get him both and you can just download transfer Mewtwo into the other version when you get the other version later.

I don't have to necessarily worry about this because I was planning on getting both as soon as I knew both existed. And would have gotten both even if there was no further incentive to do so. But that is something that those who are in that kind of situation will want to know about.

I agree the DLC should be free for the people who purchase both, just a bonus and like 5 bucks for the people who only have one version so it doesn't screw over people without a 3DS/Wii U and can't afford one.

oh yeah the free thing is fine, just saying that paid dlc should be available to anyone that just has one system.

It's not only about the money, it's about what people want. For example, I don't want to get my hands on the 3DS version because not only I don't have a 3DS and I don't want to get one but also because I found that version of the game way too lackluster (I'm not going to elaborate on that so a flamewar doesn't begin).

I have as much right as those who bought both versions to get the extra character. Fine, you get it for free as a reward for buying both, but give me the option to buy the character too, because I also want to have it.

It's a good strategy, people who are willing to by smash for 3DS just for Mewtwo exist and they're going to get money off them. That's what they want, more money. It's a simple but smart way to boost the sales of both versions at the same time even if it's only slightly.

I don't really care about it right now tbh, too far away with too few details.

I have a feeling it might work this way depending on if/when we see more characters as DLC. The people who have both get them free, while the people who don't eventually have to pay for them, similar to how the Ambassador program worked with the 3DS.

I just found a glithch with Ike on that Fire Emblem Stage. He landed on one of the platforms after performing his up special (Aether) and than got stuck on his landing animation.
