Sonic Boom (new Sonic the Hedgehog with MLP writer)

I don't think there will ever be an incarnation of him lazier than the one in The Subspace Emissary.

"Sonic! It's literally 'the last minute' now! Are you gonna help them out or what?"

"Eh. Ask again in 59 seconds."

That was mainly because Sonic in Brawl was a last minute addition. He wasn't planned in the game early on but the demand for him was so high that they had to put him in the game or else Sakurai and/or Nintendo thought the backlash would be detrimental to the game. (You know there'd be an outcry of how much a missed opportunity it would of been to have Solid Snake of all 3rd Parties, but not anyone else. Especially Sonic).

They probably also had to delay it a bit in order to give time in order to not just put Sonic in but get all the Sonic content in the game. And they also didn't want to just put him like a side character like they did for Toon Link, Jigglypuff, and Wolf who you just find secret rooms for. So they decide to make him the character who breaks Tabuu's trophifying wings so he has some degree of importance. Because Sonic being in the game is something Nintendo really wanted to advertise as soon as it was done. It's a shame his role is so small still, but personally I feel it's a pretty awesome moment myself. Certainly better then nothing.

I know all that but as a result he seems lazy from a story point of view.

So is the first season of this over yet.

Nope, we're still a looooooong way to go (Especially if they're doing just one 11 minute episode per week like they did the past two weeks. Cause if that's the case, assuming there's no more breaks between episodes whenever the show comes back with new episodes that's a total of 44 weeks. In other words, Season 1 might almost last the entire year of 2015 at the rate of just one new episode a week)

There is no confirmation of Lyric or Shadow appearing in the show, right?

Knuckles dosen't seem to be grouchy like his original counterpart.

This is unrelated but was there a playable red Sonic in a game of the Playstation? I don't remember and I am not sure if that was Knuckles because I used to think he was a hedgehog too despite being earless and his nose of a pencil. The game had them race down hill and knocking cars.

No appearence by Lyric or Shadow yet. I could see Shadow coming by at least once. I don't know if Lyric will at all though.

You're thinking of Sonic Adventure 2's Multiplayer I think. And unless you mean the PSN port of SA2 for Playstation 3. The only systems it was on was the Dreamcast and the Gamecube. And Knuckles wasn't playable (Without hacks anyway) in the level you're talking about. The other hedgehog was Shadow who had red stripes

So there was never a red hedgehog? my memory about this must be failing. I used to think a non-existing red hedgehog was the actual main character instead of Sonic. And when I watch Sonic X, I realized that there was no red Sonic. There were no palette swaps right?

Yeah there was never a red hedgehog whatsoever.

That was bizarre, maybe I was in an alternative universe in which there was Sonic's red brother for a moment, lol.

I like Sonic Boom because they are on the actual Sonic planet instead of Earth or another planets.

New episodes start up again on the 17th

All we know are the airdates and titles for the next three episodes though

Guilt Tripping 1/17/15

Dude, Where’s My Eggman? 1/24/15

Cow Bot 1/31/15

I'm most curious on what "Dude, Where's My Eggman?" is going to be about, cause most of the really good episodes of the show are focused on him

Calling it now the the Eggman one is going to be a Sonic crossover with Rainbow Dash as focus pony.

Uh, wat. I think you're confusing this with the FiM thread :S

The only thing Sonic Boom has in relation to FiM is that one of the show's writers (Dave Polsky) did work for the show. (And well there was this picture in an Amy episode that had two ponies that had the same colors that Rarity and Pinkie has)

Well if Shadow can still use his chaos abilities in a continuity without the emeralds then I bet Sonic can still go super with just as little explanation.

I hope Super Sonic appears at some point it doesn't matter how he becomes Super Sonic I just want Super Sonic.

probably going to happen at some point. i'd bet one of the season finales would feature a super transformation.

is it ever explained where Shadow comes from in the Sonic Boom verse?

nope

and I doubt they ever will considering they didn't even do much to establish this new Sonic universe in general.

I assume he'll show up in the show SOMEWHERE. But kinda hard to see what they'll do with him, considering this is a humor central show and Shadow is generally humorless (Well intentionally humorless, given some of the comedy gold that was the Shadow the Hedgehog game's story).

As for Shadow since this show is more of comedy than serious. There are several ways they could go with Shadow. Way too many for us to explain.

He came from Hawaii on a ship and he got stranded and lost his Hawaiian shirt and he became bad.
