In-universe, Paper Mario: Sticker Star was a book for young children, explaining the simple plot compared to past games and use of a mechanic based on stickers. (The book could come with a lot of those stickers, or something) I can imagine someone in the Mushroom Kingdom or something capitalizing off of all the stuff Mario does, anyway.

All Paper Marios except the first one exist in their own little world.

the Mario Bros' mom (who I call Luana in my story) couldn't take the idea of her kids being placed in danger any longer (considering that they were kidnapped like three times before at this point), so she demanded the family move out of the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario and Luigi spend the remainder of their childhood and teenage years in Diamond City; Luana suggested they move there because it was mostly inhabited by humans (as she feels the bros. could relate better with their own kind) and had next to no monsters.

Kamek and Kammy Koopa are siblings, Kamek being the older brother while Kammy is the little sister (their ages aren't too far apart though).

Having been around them quite often as a baby, Mario can somewhat understand the language of the Yoshies, but he can't speak it. Yoshi (the main green one) will usually act as his translator when Mario talks to other Yoshies that can't speak human English, being bilingual.
I have similar ideas, although I picture the Mario family relocating to Brooklyn/Big Ape City rather than Diamond City. I used to think of Kamek and Kammy as twins, but how I've always portrayed them in my fanfics isn't really twin-like, so I'm thinking of making them just regular brother and sister, with Kamek one or two years older (and focusing on getting the Mario Bros.'s twin relationship right instead). I also think that Mario, Luigi and even Bowser can understand Yoshi, but can't speak it since it's so nuanced, it's outside non-Yoshis' vocal capabilities to produce the sounds with enough preciseness to be understandable (it'd be like if someone was trying to speak a human language but couldn't make different vowel sounds).

Makes sense.

Koopas can become 4 legged any time.

Bowser is a lich and what's keeping him alive is hidden and protected somewhere.

In the basement Luigi made in Paper Mario, he secretly opens it up every night and goes MLG.

Super Mario Sunshine was Bowser testing his son's abilities and his loyalty.

NSMB2 happened because Bowser was bored on saturday.

I'd say he'd morph into this after spending extended periods kidnapped in Artoon's games.

Mario Bros is Mario's day job when not being a hero.

Hey, that's my head canon too. I wonder if a client tried calling Mario, but there's an automated message that says, "Off rescuing princesses! Wahoo!"

Well it makes sense. It's when they were first called plumbers.

Lol. Then Luigi chimes in with "leave a message". And instead of a beep it's a coin noise.

Bowser had a sore throat during the events of sunshine, that's why his voice sounded so shit.

Heh. That would be amusing in a Mario game if that actually happened.

Maybe he swallowed drywall.

He swallowed Scott Burns.

Maybe he was really sick, got a sore throat, and had to take a rejuvenating bath, so that's why he was also on vacation.
