Your headcanons

But he took the tail with it - suggesting that it is still connected to the spinal column. Plus he made boxers appear for no reason at the same time: it's clearly just black magic of the heathen gods at work there, otherwise Bowser should be a naked, screaming pile of butchered quadriplegia.

I was actually referring to the lumbar nook and the spikeball

Plus this answers many questions about Bowser's shell in relation to his body.

Ah, I see. Well, Bowser having a crick in his back preventing the spikeball move could easily be phantom pain from a blockage in his hammerspace powers anyway.

I don't consider Dry Bones to be accurate reflections of what the actual skeletons look like, but rather, are magically enhanced (with magic also moving the embellished bones in place of muscles). I mean, look at those at those solid hands and feet: only the thumb has a free metacarpal necessary for motility, and it's acting more like an extra phalange. The woeful lack of vertebrae in the tail also suggest there's fusion going on otherwise the real tail wouldn't be as flexible as it is in life, skulls that solid would weigh a tonne, there looks like there's barely an inch of muscle mass between the arm bones and the bracers, the fibula connects to the back of the knee (which is at least better than non-Dragon-Koopa Dry Bones, which only have tibias; both varieties are missing their radius by the looks of it too), and not even snakes have wraparound ribs like that. Plus, shoes, gloves and hair are hardly skeletal features.

Well, considering Bowser knows magic, maybe he channels it so that his body can do things his skeleton normally wouldn't enable him to? Afterall magic is the only reason I can think of as to why his skeleton would still be going despite having no organs.

It's simpler to just say his body works normally and the Dry form isn't true to form, but is something a bit different, like a ghost possessing a corpse, but instead of rotting flesh it's fused chunks of bone and cartilage. And same for all the other Koopa species Dry Bones forms - most of which are from the not-very-magical Koopa Troopas.

Well it would be simpler to say the developers probably don't know how bones work and that Dry Bowser looks that way because it's cooler.

But I still see that as his skeleton since it's what appears when his flesh melts.

So... do you think the Dry Bones in the Paper Mario games bar Sticker Star are another type of Dry Bones?

Nah, just styled differently.

Maybe the teeth is actually a vestigial part of the Koopa body

Dry Bones also have teeth, which Koopa Troopas don't seem to have. Not sure about that one though, we don't really see inside Koopa Troopas' mouths.

Koopas' mouths don't have sharp bits.

New Headcanon, Bowser forces all newly created Dry Bones to sharpen their jaws since they are now undead and don't feel pain.

It's easier if you just break a bit from the jaw and then sharpen them.

It's more for appearances, I mean how often do you see a koopa bite something?

I don't know, but you don't see birds biting at all and you know, birds actually do bite...

Isn't that more pecking?

No, it's biting. They close their jaws on your fingers and, depending on how scared the bird is and the type of bird, can hurt mighty badly. Our cockatiel had even made fingers bleed a bit. And when having a discussion with me, Walkazo said that the shrikes and the chickadees hurt a lot.

The more you know

*star flies overhead*

Still, I don't see koopas as the biting type, only Bowser but he's got the teeth for it

That's true, but you don't necessarily need teeth to bite.

No you don't but I just don't see koopas doing it.

Seeing another mention of "Dragon Koopas" has reminded me of another facecanon I have. Bowser and his family are Boom Booms, which are basically just hefty Koopas with ox-like muzzles and sometimes spikes and/or fire breath. Boom Booms are alternatively known as "Dinosaur Land Koopas" to differentiate them from Mushroom Kingdom Koopas, and that's why Bowser lived on Yoshi's Island during childhood and why Sumo Bros. and Football Charlies are also found in Dinosaur Land, because they're Boom Booms with specific skills.

read the above posts in more detail edit: shellcreepers bite, and my other headcanon is that "shellcreeper" is a racial slur for four-legged koopas

Pretty sure Baby Bowser wasn't raised on yoshi's island.

It's where we see him most often.

But he isn't raised there. Most of the time it's at his castle in Darkland.
