So what's with Rosalina recently?

I don't know why, but I prefer queens over princesses.

I do too

I prefer power and authority over....i don't know what princesses have

well, a princess can still have power and authority, it just means shes unmarried

I thought the title of a queen is hereditary?

Or maybe we can explain why Metal Mario and Baby Mario exist at the same time as Mario, and the explanation is believeable by Mario standards.

I think it would be more hilarious for fans to decide for themselves
time travel, or clones
and metal Mario is a terminator

and last I knew the title wasn't hereditary, but she can get divorced and theoretically still be queen, at least from I've heard about the term

Rosalina's called Princess for I assume similar reasons to the Princesses in Friendship is Magic are still called Princesses (Just using that show as an example)

Perhaps it's unfair to those that prefer the term queens, but one of the classic stories that have been done for like ever in fiction is the hero saving the Princess. But in both Mario and FiM, it's kinda obvious the Princesses still are pretty much the rulers/queens anyway as there's no sign of anyone above Peach/Rosalina or Celestia/Luna in their respective series. Granted, we'll probably never know what exactly Peach or Rosalina actually do. Because all we see Peach do is get kidnapped, saved, or participate in kart racing and/or sports with the rest of the Mario gang. In other words we've only seen Peach on her free time and when she's in danger because that's all Mario games usually covers (Granted, I'm sure "Princess Peach's Royal Simulator" wouldn't exactly be well recieved... unless it was something like the old Sim City games only with the Mushroom Kingdom in place of a city). And Rosalina in terms of main Mario games only had a real big role in the first Super Mario Galaxy game where the main thing she did was guide and assist Mario during that game. There's some people that have put in the theory that Rosalina's like a god (Such as the scene at the end of the first Mario Galaxy where Rosalina appears before Mario in a much larger size) in the Marioverse. But other then her backstory of how she ended up at the Comet Observatory in the care of the Lumas as a child, we don't know much else to be sure.

Is Rosalina a ruler of just her observatory? She can't be much anything to the specific planet that Mario lives on, as I believe Galaxy shows that her observatory travels alot. Is she a ruler of the galaxy that the Mushroom Kingdom's planet is in? Is she the ruler of the entire universe in the Marioverse? We just don't know. And we'll likely never know (Unless maybe her obligatory trophy when SSB4 comes out answers any of this)

Well, apparently she's God, as she recreated the universe along with the Lumas.

but bowser is easily defeated every time and there has been far more evil villains in the franchise anyway.

Plus bowser is way too goofy to be the ultimate evil.

Yeah, somebody like Dimentio would be the ultimate evil. But he's dead...

yeah but Bowser is Rosalina's only enemy is Bowser in Mario games, ergo Bowser is to Rosalina as Satan is to God

I don't mind her appearing in the spinoffs, as she's a worthy and excellent character. But SM3DW...while it was nice to see her, it came WAY out of left field.

Sakurai also confirms she's very light.

Much like Mewtwo.

The term "very light" seems rather exaggerated though, since that would probably be close to Jigglypuff's weight level. There's no way that Rosalina would ever be THAT light.

Which is strange, because she was Cruiser (medium-heavy) in Mario Kart 7.

Yoshi is average weight in Mario Kart but is one of the heaviest characters in smash. Mario Kart weight class means nothing.

The Cruiser class is probably more for those who are tall, but not exactly big enough to be in the Heavy class. However, Donkey Kong meets all the Heavy class requirements, but still ended up as a Cruiser class character.

I always found that weird. Hopefully he becomes his heavy glory self in Mario Kart 8.

Wario being a heavyweight and Donkey Kong is cruiser.....

what does that say about Wario's weight?

I'm just imagining Wario singing Weird Al Yankovic's "Fat."
