Unpopular opinions about the Super Smash Bros. series

Also, although I can wavedash properly 80% of the time, although I do pay attention to the strengths and weaknesses of each character, although I did master the SHFFL (short hop, fast fall, l-cancel) technique, I still love my Giant Melee with 2.0 ratio, items on, and on stages like Mute City more than 1 v 1 Final Destination without items.

Hang on a second. I get that you have your option and all that, but have you ever considered that the whole "1 vs. 1, Final Des, no items style of play is actually very fun to some people. Have you ever seen a professional Smash match? Spectators go wild and scream like it's a football game. I get you have your opinion and all that, but that is what some people consider "fun".

A friend of mine explained to me that he preferred one-on-one no items Final Destination matches are fun because it's all about learning and mastering the fighting style of the character, like in other fighting games. He finds items and the gimmicks stages annoying and intrusive, making it too unpredictable.

Speaking for myself, I see the appeal now, one-on-one matches with no items on Final Destination can get pretty intense sometimes... Though I still would prefer variety.

You're missing the other three level nines with team attack -2 SD on

I prefer hectic matches rather than mastering things. Explosive bob-omb Party Balls + screw attacks + star KO'ing a Super Mushroom character is always so freakishly funny

I don't really like Final Destination. I prefer Battlefield honestly(I know that at its most basic concept it's just Final Destination with maybe shorter horizontal length and platforms, but I find the general Final Destination Stage kinda dull). I can understand people like what at its core is a really simple stage, but it's not just for me. The background is also meh for me but Battlefield does grasp my attention and care.

IMO, Final Destination is at its best against 3 level 9 Peachs in Giant Melee with aforementioned settings my sister and I like

I don't have a lot of good smashers to play against, so 1 v. 1s are mostly nonexistent.

Although I do think I'm decent at Melee, I'm a casual player at heart, and I play Super Smash Bros. with wacky settings because "the developers intended them to be in". Well, not my argument, but removing items and playing only on one stage, I think, doesn't really reveal the soul of the game. Personal tastes, though.

You're always on the same team as me, though.

But we kinda compete for the most points

That's why it's way more fun to play with items. You never know what may happen.

I think Motion Sensor Bombs from Melee and Super Smash Bros. are, by far, the most balanced item in the Smash Bros. series.

I agree. I never liked how they disappear in Brawl if no one steps on them after a certain amount of time.

Annnnd they're nerfed...badly

I hated them in Brawl. Why oh why, Brawl? At least the Pitifall is a good substitute.

It defeats the whole goddang purpose as well. Just why did Sakurai had the urge to make the Motion Sensor Bomb unenjoyable? Plus, the CPU isn't as dumb, so I don't use the Motion Sensor Bomb in that game.

Where the heck are you getting this idea from? There are six tournament legal stages in Melee.

Final Destination
Battlefield
Yoshi's Story
Fountain of Dreams
Dreamland 64
Pokemon Stadium (counter pick only)

I was responding to Smashgoom's post where the user had mentioned a user that "preferred one-on-one no items Final Destination matches".

I think Final Destination is just a common pick for competitive matches, but I do agree that Pokemon Stadium on Melee is more balanced.

And the legal stages in Brawl are:

Battlefield
Final Destination
Smashville
Yoshi's Island (counter/starter)
Lylat Cruise (counter/starter)
Pokemon Stadium 1 (counter/starter)
Castle Siege (counter/starter)
Delfino Plaza (counter)
Frigate Orpheon (counter)
Halberd (counter)

HOW DARE YOU! PAPER MARIO IS AWESOME BLAH BLAH BLAH... JK, I agree.

I can see a unique moveset come out of it, but I don't like the idea of the two same characters being in the same fighting game fighting each other, even if one's made out of paper and the other isn't. Same goes with how I felt about Dr. Mario and Young Link in Melee. Toon Link is justified, because he's literally a different Link from a different time period.

And Paper Mario isn't an entirely different entity?

Well... no, not to me, anyway. See, the thing about Paper Mario, up until Sticker Star anyway, is that I always assumed that the paper thing was purely aesthetic, and that what's going on in those games would have happened regardless of whether or not everything was paper. It was never truly "blatant" in the use of the paper gimmick, at least how I saw it. Even the "curses" in The Thousand-Year Door I can justify in my own head as something that could, theoretically, happen if Mario wasn't paper.

It's hard to explain...
