i mean the level design and music and stuff reminded me of games i used to play ten years ago when i was younger

It may have rivaled out even surpassed 06 in amount of Glitches. But it still overall has to be alot worse to be even half as bad as Sonic 06.

I'm actually already tired of the people saying this is the new Sonic 06. Cause anyone who says this game is as bad or even worse then Sonic 06 doesn't know how truly bad Sonic 06 was to the Sonic franchise.

plus 06 was a main game so at least this isnt canon

Oh god, Sonic '06 Game Grumps is coming to mind...

To bad Jon isn't there. Sonic '06 was bearable to watch with them playing just because of his laugh (JonTron's laugh is the wheezy laugh you just cannot help but laugh with when you hear it).

I really should check it out.
 
This game so far is seeming a lot like the equivalent of those Chinese bootleg games on the NES in terms of the quality of the final product compared to official in-house games.

No surprise seeing as it's been like that with every mediocre installment in the franchise. I think the problem is the developers setting goals they can't reach in the time they have. The game looked like pre-alpha until E3 when it went into early alpha. This game probably started development at the same time as Zelda U for all we know.

Anyway, if it wasn't for the Demo coming out in December (In which I'll care much more about playing Smash) I'd probably try out the game for myself just because of the reaction this game has caused. I still think anyone thinking this game is even close to being as bad as Sonic 06 are blowing things out of proportion. Maybe sometime I might still play the demo anyway, but I really don't think it's as bad some are making it out to be. It's still bad, don't get me wrong. But it's more so on Shadow the Hedgehog (The Game) and/or Sonic Chronicles levels of bad, not the clusterfuck that Sonic 06 was.
 
Man I mostly agree with Projared's reviews so...yay?

..better convince one of my friends to NOT buy this game
 
Looking at the gameplay during ProJared's review; reminds me of crappy shovelware games.

What he said makes sense; Sonic 06 is hilariously bad but Sonic Boom is just plain bad. I know which one I'd choose.
 
Well, from the cutscenes I've seen at least Eggman is funny.

Here's a review that basically goes with what I've been saying about the game. Especially when he gets to talking about the reaction with people who are saying this game is as bad or worse then Sonic 06.

Will this be the new Sonic '06.

I thought this Sonic game would actually have potential after that disaster called Sonic '06, which is still leaving a very bitter taste in the Sonic franchise, IMO. I think Sonic is going to have an even harder chance to rebound from this, lol.
 
well sonic boom IS a spin-off game (albeit a very bad one) so i don't think the main sonic will be greatly affected by this

unlike sonic '06 which WAS a main sonic game

Like Baby Luigi said this was a spin-off. This doesn't really effect the Sonic series anymore then say for a (somewhat, since of course it's not like Paper Mario is also getting a cartoon series or something. And I know Paper Mario of course had successful games in it's series before Sticker Star) similar situation with Sticker Star's poor reception affects the Main Mario series.

It sure as heck getting an overreaction in the fanbase though. Though I suppose it doesn't matter how good or bad a game is in the Sonic fanbase. xP

EDIT: If anything it might just make Sega distrustful of Western Developers handling the Sonic brand. This game was made solely in North America.
