Hypochondriac Mario said:I wouldn't like U.S. intervention though. As I stated, anti-U.S. sentiment and oil ties, plus, U.S. wouldn't repeat their action as they did with the Middle-East. Despite this, I think they helped Egypt and other protestors at Saudi-Arabia? I think?
That rat Raul Castro! Stay safe. I hope you are posting behind a proxy or two or ten you don't want your government to find you. They are probably monitoring everything. You have a right to protest for your human rights, though. I don't know why America can't help you guys out under the Monroe Doctrine.Anser said:I didn't know this thread existed! If I had known, I would have stopped posting in the other thread a long time ago. Things are getting worse every day. Cuba has sent some of their military to infiltrate with ours to kill us (remember Maduro basically wants to give them our country). They ordered a curfew in some cities of the country and we can't go out if we don't want to be killed.
I'll keep you guys updated. I want to thank all of you for being interested and supporting my country. I don't know how many times I've said this, but you really have no idea of how much it means to me. Imagining that some of you even lost some sleep thinking of us is just unbelievable. God bless you all, and again, THANKS!

What you're describing sounds terrible... Sounds like that Raul Castro is making life a living nightmare for the people there. Best luck to you, Anser.

raul castro is the dictator of cuba, maduro is the dictator of venezuela
PrincessOfPeaches said:Ugh, I feel kind of silly right now. I meant to write Nicolás Maduro, but accidentally wrote Raul Castro instead...
Um I believe you mean democratically elected leader of Venezula :PDr. Javelin said:wrong countryPrincessOfPeaches said:I'm shocked to say the least. I had no idea this was happening. raul castro is the dictator of cuba, maduro is the ruler of venezuela
Nah this is a classic dictator strategy they release certain political prisoners as a way to appease protesters and to make it look to the outside world that they are doing something for the people and easing restrictionsAnser said:Sorry for double posting, but apparently the government has ordered to free Iván Simonovis, who was put in jail by Chávez unfairly. This is a huge shock for the country because he's been in jail for years and was one of Chávez's biggest enemies.
The... The dictatorship may be starting to crack because of the international pressure... :| God, please let this be true!!

It was a joke I know he wasn't elected fairlyAnser said:Wall Doxey said:Um I believe you mean democratically elected leader of Venezula :P
He was NOT elected democratically. He stole the elections and there is proof of it. He actually has let it slip a couple times, but no one does anything. The CNE (National Electoral Center) is part of the PSUV (the political party founded by Chávez) so they always rig the elections. There is footage of boxes containing hundreds of votes being burned and destroyed and everything.
They did? I would've bothered to watch the Oscars for that.Anser said:So, Jared Leto (vocalist of 30 Seconds To Mars and Best Supporting Actor winner) talked about the situation in Ukraine and Venezuela tonight at the Oscars, and we're very grateful. He helped raise awareness and now many more people know what's going on.
If this doesn't scream dictator, I don't know what does. I just hope you, FireEevee, and the rest of the citizens of Venezuela stay strong.Anser said:Today, millions of people walked together in different cities. Maduro insists that only the rich walk because they have money, but it turns out that the poor people have also joined the protests because they're affected the most when they can't find any food. He thinks that only a few people are against him when the truth is that more than half of the country wants him out. Does it make any sense to you guys that the president of a nation insults more than half of it every-single-time he talks? He takes over national TV at least twice a day, interrupting its programs (not that they're good anyway) to say stupid things and insult the opposition. He always calls us fascists, traitors to the homeland, spoiled brats and whatnot, just because we want a better life. He always tells us that we're sons of Obama (because they call themselves sons of Chávez) because reportedly we want the US to take over the country. Hell, THEY let Cuba take over our country, and then he comes to call us traitors to the homeland? That son of a bitch. I hate him so freaking much.
