The Perfect Mario Spinoff Roster

If you're good at the game, you don't need only captains to win.

Besides, Waluigi is a terrible captain anyway.

Non-team captain captain characters eat up 2 star skills so it runs dry quickly. A skilled player wouldn't use star skills in all succession. Oh and I think there's the option to turn them off :V

Mario Sports Mix is ok.
I just wish it was all Mario and no anything else and that it had more Mario CHaracters in it.

no it did not

100% lack of them.

Compared with its prequel I see nothing ok there, sorry.

And it doesn't really matter if there are 3rd party characters. To me it's more like SE didn't put their popular protagonists there.

Yeah, they missed a golden opportunity to bring back SMRPG characters. It was a Mario game after all

So? They brought back other characters who were absent for a long time (Popple, Chargin' Chucks, Koopalings)

And Geno appeared in Superstar Saga, so if Popple could come back so could he, right?

Not in spinoff games. Those games almost always have well-known and recent characters.

Popple was actually a character in the game, whereas Geno had only a tiny cameo (I didn't even known it was Geno until after I'd played SMRPG)

The opportunity is just as golden as bringing these guys to a Yoshi's Island game.

No because Square Enix isn't involved with Yoshi's Island

My point is, Nintendo and Square did another Mario game together, why NOT bring back characters from their first Mario collaboration?

Because they're moot and long "dead" characters?

They're still popular

No, they're really not; they're niche characters

"Popular" is a relative term. They and their associated games receive hardly any merchandising, for starters.

That's because Nintendo hates the Mario RPGs, plain and simple. They do have enough fans for Nintendo to make merchandise if they wanted to.

Actually there is Super Mario RPG merchandise, with figures and plushies made for the game. I made a topic about it a while back.

The merchandising has hardly done anything else after that, though.

And as my sister said, the characters are dead for a while. Wait for perhaps a reboot/remake.

It was available for download on Wii Shop Channel

Which reminds me I need to get that shit if it isn't too late. I have yet to play SMRPG on an actual game system.

That's not enough. I'm sure it won't boost the chances of anything.
