There was a pre-movie episode called Party Pooper Pants: I don't recall seeing it but reading the synopsis it sounds awful.
Is that the one where Spongebob is locked out of his house and arrested whilst trying to get back in?
Yeah.

Yeah.
That sounds like Procrastination, wasn't Spongebob locked out of his house in that one as well?

Pretty sure that one's called "House Party"

Source: an old VHS tape I have containing said episode.

That one wasn't that bad! It wasn't like "I'm With Stupid"! *shudders*

He wasn't arrested in that one.

Party Pooper just wasn't good...

Band Geeks is like the best episode ever of Spongebob. I've watched that many times, and my band watches it all the time too. It literally has one of the funniest stuff in it, and is even better if you're a band geek yourself.

I also really liked Doodle Bob, since it had some of Patrick's best quotes in it.

I have noticed that after the "old Spongebob", Patrick's quotes became less funny and more stupid. Like as Edo said, they became flat characters, and Patrick probably suffered the worse in terms of his dialogue. Like, back then he was stupid still, but he had amazing quotes that made it funny, instead of now where people laugh at him for making random noises and two-word brainless junk.

And I don't think I've ever seen the episode: The Paper. I literally have never seen it, even after reading a quick synopsis.

While it wasn't perfect, you can really tell how the show has deterriorated, and it's sad. I mean, once in awhile they'll have a new episode that is decent, but a lot of them have gone from being like Spongebob to just being like "Let's see how much we can try to make people throw up with a scene of Squidward's Hang nail".

Plus, the music is not even that good. "This Grill is Not a Home" is one of my favorite songs from the show (Ep: Welcome to the Chum Buckle) along with "It's a Sweet Victory" (Band Geeks), "Loop de Loop" (Your Shoe's Untied), "Texas/I wanna go home" (Texas), and a few others.

Now that I think about it, Band Geeks is actually one of my favorite episodes as well. Lots of funny stuff, the plot is good, the characters are well executed, and the finale is just amazing. It's one of the episodes containing everything that made old Spongebob what it was.

If you're wondering, The Paper is about SpongeBob finding various ways to have fun with a piece of gumball paper Squidward threw away, making Squidward realise how much fun he can have, so Squid gives SpongeBob everything he owns for the piece of paper.

It's minimalist and weird, but has its own charm.

I don't get why people hate The Paper so much, it was one of my favourite older episodes. Pizza Delivery was just plain awesome.

KRUSTY KRAAAYEAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAYEAAAAHB PIZZA! IS THE PIZZA, YEAH! FOR YOU AND..

Curiously, that's an episode with yet another instance of Squidward being a three-dimensional character. Spongebob does everything in his power to (probably unwittingly) annoy Squidward, yet despite all that he sticks up for him when it counts.

I've been thinking some more about Band Geeks, and what I think deserves a mention is that the ending amazingly manages to be funny AND sweet at the same time. Funny because of the sheer absurdity of the situation, and sweet because the whole ending is basically just a big apology to Squidward for being uncooperative shits the whole time.

It's one of those rare cases in comedy where a joke works without it being at the expense of anyone (if you ignore that it gives Squilliam a heart attack, but that's not really the focus of the scene as it would still have worked without it).

Plus Squilliam was a jerk anyways.

I love the Squillium episodes. Like, everybody thinks Squidward is a jerk, but Squillium takes it to the next couple of levels. Of course, the best of them all is Band Geeks.

Also, the Kelp Forest one I love, but it used to freak me out. I don't know why. Probably the concept of being lost forever.

Also, the one where Squidward goes into the future, and time travels to the past, and invents Jellyfishing. That is priceless. Although when he is in the world with absolutely nothing, that scene still freaks me out to this day.

I'm not saying I don't love the Squillium episodes. I think he's a very entertaining character. He just accomplishes that by being a jerk.

I enjoyed the episode with nothing. There was an XKCD comic with a similar thing to the ending of that, and it was...interesting, to say the least.

Honestly I always thought Spongbob was still good at times after that, just not as good. There have been some good episodes after Season 3.

But yeah the originals are obviously the best.

And how has anyone not mentioned Survival of the Idiots?

Who you calling pinhead?

And SpongeBob didn't act like a creepy stalker towards Squidward. I recall one recent episode where SpongeBob calls Squidward, who picks up the phone to hear SpongeBob breathing deeply on the other end.

I love that episode as well.

I'll take a double triple bossy deluxe, on a raft, 4x4, animal style, extra shingles with a shimmy and a squeeze, light axle grease, make it cry, burn it, and let it swim.

Honestly (and I'm probably not the only one here), I think the show will be cancelled after the second movie, especially considering the show went into a hiatus after the first one. The question is what would keep Nickelodeon up and running if and when that happens.

Personally, I think it would be one of these three things: Fairly Oddparents will become the most popular show, Nick will revive Danny Phantom, or the channel will just die.
